Bright was founded in 2019 by a founding team from McKinsey’s Banking Practice (Petko Plachkov and Avi Patchava) and InMobi Data Scientists (Varun Modi and Avi Patchava). The core team is ex-InMobi Engineering and Data Sciences, recently joined by senior leaders from McKinsey. Bright is a data-driven, fast-paced execution culture that will build a Global Consumer FinTech, all functions operating from India.
What is the team & role about?
This role is an entry-level DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) position focused on supporting daily cloud operations, monitoring systems, and maintaining documentation. The broader team manages the company's AWS infrastructure, prioritizing system reliability, automated deployments, and cloud cost optimization. Ultimately, this position serves as the first line of defense for routine maintenance and troubleshooting, providing a strong foundational stepping stone into advanced cloud architecture.
What you will do?
Support daily SRE/DevOps operational tasks.
Assist with AWS cost analysis, tagging, compliance, usage reports, and optimization.
Help with monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and runbook improvements.
Contribute to automation work using scripting.
Perform ad-hoc tasks such as troubleshooting, log checks, and metrics reporting.
Maintain documentation for infrastructure,SOPs and any internal processes.
Participate in OnCall duties on shift basis to support infrastructure reliability.
Ideal candidate profile looks like?
Experience & Background:
Basic understanding of Linux and shell commands.
Basic coding knowledge (bash/Python).
Familiarity with cloud concepts (preferably AWS).
Good communication skills and willingness to learn quickly.
Interest in DevOps/SRE practices (automation, CI/CD, cloud, monitoring).
