NVIDIA is looking for a Software Engineering Intern to work in IPP (Infrastructure, Planning and Process). IPP is a global organization within NVIDIA. This group works with various other groups within NVIDIA Software such as Graphics Processors, Mobile Processors, Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Driveless Cars to cater to their infrastructure needs. These cloud services provide almost half a million automated jobs per day on thousands of servers helping with the efficiency of thousands of NVIDIA's software engineers worldwide.

The cloud hosts heterogeneous mix of machines and devices with various operating systems (Windows/Linux/Android), multitude of hardware platforms both NVIDIA GPUs and Tegra Processors. We’re looking for someone who can thrive in a fast moving environment and love being challenged to learn new things. You’ll come in with a basic understanding of engineering and operational principles and leave with a head filled to bursting with tools, processes, practices, and technology solutions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Developing and improving cloud automation, reporting, and monitoring.

  • Proactively contribute to documentation, automation, and processes as they evolve.

  • Learn about building and operating services at scale in a fast-iteration setup.

  • Own small projects supporting internal process engineering efforts.

  • Develop a working understanding of some of the common tools and practices used for microservice development and infrastructure.

  • Work on a fast paced DevOps engineering team.

What we need to see:

  • Pursuing a MS or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent program. 

  • Strong object-oriented programming background, Java, Python preferred.

  • Familiarity with Container management solutions (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins etc.) & practice, source code management systems ex: Git, GitLab etc.

  • Familiarity with Relational Databases such as MySQL, Oracle, NoSQL DBs such as Elastic Search, MongoDB, HBase.

  • Ability to turn design, compliance, and support references/content into documentation, presentations, and training.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Prior experience in DevOps & SRE. Knowledge of Kubernetes, containerized solution.

  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux operating systems as well as network technologies.

  • Background with AWS or other cloud computing platforms.

  • Ability to analyze situations and utilize troubleshooting skills, systems and tools, and problem solving abilities.

The hourly rate for our interns is 18 USD - 71 USD. Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
