Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Wireless Network Engineer to join our Network Operations team. This role is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving enterprise wireless infrastructure while handling daily escalations from the Service Desk and offshore Network Operations teams. The ideal candidate has strong hands‑on experience with Cisco, Juniper Mist, and Meraki wireless platforms, deep knowledge of network authentication, and the ability to communicate clearly across technical and non‑technical audiences.
This role requires the ability to travel for onsite wireless surveys, troubleshooting, and remediation activities.
Key Responsibilities
Wireless Operations & Escalation Support
Act as a senior escalation point for wireless incidents from the Service Desk and offshore Network Operations teams
Troubleshoot complex wireless performance, connectivity, and authentication issues in enterprise environments
Perform root cause analysis and drive issues through resolution in accordance with SLA and operational standards
Provide on‑call or after‑hours support as required for critical incidents and maintenance activities
Wireless Infrastructure Management
Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot:
Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) 9800s and Access Points
Juniper Mist Access Points and Mist Cloud
Meraki wireless infrastructure and cloud management
Perform software upgrades, configuration changes, and lifecycle maintenance for wireless platforms
Validate and optimize RF design, roaming behavior, and wireless security configurations
Site Surveys & Field Work
Travel to customer or corporate sites to:
Conduct wireless site surveys (pre‑deployment, post‑deployment, and troubleshooting)
Perform onsite diagnostics and remediation
Validate RF coverage, capacity, and interference issues
Produce survey reports and actionable recommendations
Network Authentication & Security
Design, implement, and troubleshoot wireless authentication solutions
Demonstrate strong expertise in:
802.1X, EAP methods, RADIUS
Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for authentication, authorization, and policy enforcement
Troubleshoot authentication failures across wireless, wired, and NAC integrations
Access Layer Switching & VLANs
Configure and troubleshoot access‑layer networking supporting wireless infrastructure
Hands‑on experience with:
Cisco and Juniper switches
VLAN design, trunking, access ports, and PoE considerations
Use CLI effectively to diagnose Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity issues impacting wireless services
Change & Release Management
Plan, document, and execute network changes following established change management processes
Assess risk, develop rollback plans, and coordinate with stakeholders for scheduled maintenance
Participate in change reviews and post‑implementation validation
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
Create and maintain high‑quality documentation, including:
Operational runbooks and support procedures
Product and platform support guides
Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and consumable by Service Desk and offshore teams
Contribute to continuous improvement through knowledge sharing and process refinement
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
Strong enterprise wireless engineering experience
Hands‑on expertise with:
Cisco Wireless (WLCs, APs)
Juniper Mist APs and Mist Cloud
Meraki wireless and cloud management
Solid understanding of:
Wireless RF fundamentals and design principles
Authentication protocols (802.1X, EAP, RADIUS)
Cisco ISE administration and troubleshooting
Experience with Cisco and Juniper access‑layer switching and VLANs
Strong CLI troubleshooting skills
Professional Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to explain complex technical issues to non‑technical stakeholders
Strong documentation and technical writing capabilities
Proven experience working in an operations or escalation‑driven environment
Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
Wireless or networking certifications (e.g., CCNP Wireless, CWNA, Mist certifications, Meraki certifications)
Experience supporting global or large‑scale enterprise networks
Familiarity with ITIL or structured operations frameworks
Travel Requirements
Ability and willingness to travel for onsite wireless surveys and troubleshooting as required
Salary Range
$85,120.00 - $134,400.00 USD (Salary)- Please note that the salary information provided herein is base pay only (gross); it does not include other forms of compensation which may or may not apply to this specific position, namely, performance-based bonuses, benefits-related payments, or other general incentives - none of which are guaranteed, may be subject to specific eligibility requirements, and are wholly within the discretion of Astreya to remit.

Where an applicant or employee is placed on this range will depend and be contingent on objective, documented work-related considerations like education, experience, certifications, licenses, preferred qualifications, among other factors.
