Sr. Vehicle CFD Engineer

Position:           Sr. Vehicle CFD Engineer (Job Code: 1001)

Duties:              

Responsible for performing virtual studies regarding aerodynamic performance of an electric vehicle to develop all aspects of the vehicle exterior and under hood components to achieve the best aerodynamics possible; clean up the vehicle CAD geometry and create the needed surface mesh using BETA ANSA software; build and run the virtual model and process the results; propose changes to the vehicle geometry or develop new parts to reduce the vehicle drag coefficient; utilize Siemens StarCCM+ CFD software, morphing with ANSA, Design of Experiments (DOE), Hypermesh, Unix, CATIA, Linux, TeamCenter CAD software, and JAVA programming to perform duties; responsible for wind tunnel testing for electric vehicles, ensuring that vehicles and parts are built and assembled correctly; propose solutions to improve drag during the test; and acquire the proper data and run correlation studies with the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

Salary: $130,000 per year;

Minimum Qualifications:      

Education: Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Astronautical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);

Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as an Aerodynamics Engineer, as a CFD Engineer, as a Product Design Engineer, or in a related occupation;

Other Requirements: Experience must include two (2) years’ use of all the following: Siemens StarCCM+ CFD software, morphing with ANSA, Design of Experiments (DOE), Hypermesh, Unix, CATIA, Linux, TeamCenter CAD software, and JAVA programming.
