Job Description
Balance Innovations, a division of Brink’s Incorporated, seeks a Senior UI Engineer who will champion best-in-class UI architecture, mentor fellow developers, and help build innovative SaaS solutions for the retail industry using React, GraphQL, and other modern web technologies.
What You Will Do
· Design & Develop: Architect new features and ensure high-quality user interfaces with React and GraphQL. *
· UI Leadership: Serve as the primary voice for UI/UX within cross-functional teams, aligning front-end strategy with product goals. *
· Mentorship: Guide junior and mid-level engineers, championing code reviews and continuous learning. *
· End User (UX) Champion: Represent the needs of our customers at all stages of development, but especially in early UX Design phases. *
· Code Reusability: Help maintain libraries, components, and shared Micro Front Ends (MFE’s) that can be leveraged across multiple products, streamlining future development. *
· Testing & Quality: Use unit and integration tests (Jest, RTL, Cypress) to ensure reliability and performance of UI components. *
· DevOps Collaboration: Support continuous integration, deployment, and monitoring processes as part of our DevOps workflow.
· Performance Optimization: Collaborate with UX/UI teams to maintain efficient size, speed, scalability across supported browsers (primarily Chromium)
Areas Of Expertise
· Technical Proficiencies: Proven record of accomplishments with ReactJS, Typescript, JavaScript, CSS, Jest, RTL, Cypress, Git.
· Scalability Mindset: Ability to design solutions with long-term growth in mind (AWS Cloud, GraphQL, Webpack/MFE’s, I18n).
· Leadership & Mentoring: Skilled in driving architectural decisions, enforcing best practices, and nurturing team growth.
· Continuous Improvement: Experience in Kanban/Lean processes; dedication to writing clean, testable code that adheres to coding standards, CI/CD processes.
· Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication, code review participation, and a willingness to mentor and learn from others.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field)
· 5+ years of experience in software development, UX/UI preferred
