The Treasury Controller reports to the Treasurer and owns the global treasury control environment, including associated policies, procedures, and governance. This role is the primary point of contact for audits and reviews of Treasury controls (SEC, SOX, Internal Audit, EY, and banking partners), ensuring consistent, well-documented responses and sustained audit readiness. The Treasury Controller also leads the Middle Office team responsible for banking compliance, treasury budget management, and reporting/analytics (including Power BI). - Audit coordination & response ownership: Act as the central coordinator for Treasury audits and control reviews; develop clear, consistent audit responses and evidence packages; minimize ad hoc requests to Treasury teams and reinforce strong record-retention practices.
- Technical accounting & reporting SME: Provide subject-matter expertise on technical accounting and external reporting matters impacting Treasury; draft technical memos/position papers and support alignment with Accounting and external auditors.
- Middle Office management: Lead a 2–5 person team across locations/time zones supporting KYC requests, powers of attorney, bank signer governance, documentation requests, treasury budget and invoice coding, and TMS operations (bank account open/close, cash pool maintenance); partner with IT on TMS enhancements and project delivery.
- IT demand management: Govern the intake, documentation, and approval of Treasury technology initiatives; coordinate prioritization with Treasury leadership based on capacity, risk, and budget.
- As allowed by applicable law, this role may need to perform late night, weekend, or holiday coverage due to month, quarter and year end requirements
What We're looking for:
- Experience & education: 12+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
- Audit & controls expertise: Demonstrated strength in SOX and audit support, including evidence management and control design/operation.
- People leadership & accountability: Proven ability to lead and develop teams (including managers/supervisors/professional staff) and drive results across multiple, related workstreams.
- Planning & resource management: Ability to build operating plans, shape policy, and make prioritization decisions informed by capacity, budget, risk, and functional objectives.
