The Sr. Training Manager, Commercial Sales Excellence & Training is responsible for driving the design, development, implementation, and delivery of product, technical, and sales training programs that support the growth and strategic priorities of the global commercial business. This role partners closely with Commercial Leadership, Product Management, Marketing, and Global Sales Enablement to develop training strategies and learning solutions that build technical expertise, commercial acumen, and sales effectiveness across the organization.


This position reports to the Sr. Director of Global Commercial Operations & Enablement, is part of the Global Sales Enablement & Training team and will be fully remote.  


In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and execute commercial training/learning strategies that align with business objectives, support growth priorities, and address capability needs across the global commercial organization.
  • Design, develop, and deliver engaging learning solutions, including instructor-led training, virtual programs, workshops, e-learning content, assessments, certifications, and coaching resources that build commercial and technical expertise.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership and key stakeholders to drive adoption of commercial excellence competencies, including sales methodology, funnel and opportunity management, value selling, account management, territory planning, customer engagement, and Salesforce CRM best practices.
  • Measure training effectiveness through learner assessments, certification outcomes, feedback, and business performance metrics, leveraging insights to continuously improve programs and learning experiences.
  • Partner with regional and global commercial leaders to align training priorities, drive adoption of best practices, and ensure consistent capability development across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.

The essential requirements of the job include

  • Advanced degree (MS, MA, or PhD) in a scientific discipline, or equivalent experience; alternatively, a Master's degree in Education with a focus on adult learning, training, and facilitation.
  • Minimum 7+ years of commercial experience within biotechnology, life sciences, analytical instrumentation, diagnostics, or a related industry, including sales, sales enablement, commercial excellence, or training responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and delivering instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning programs for diverse commercial and technical audiences.
  • Working knowledge of commercial excellence principles, including sales methodology, funnel and opportunity management, value selling, account management, and Salesforce CRM.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions, collaborate globally, and drive continuous improvement through data-driven training strategies.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role

  • Ability to travel up to 25%, including domestic and international travel, to support Sales Kickoff Meetings, training events, customer-facing activities, and internal business meetings as required.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally as required

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Commercial sales, sales enablement, or training roles within life sciences, biotechnology, analytical instrumentation, or a related industry.
  • Mass spectrometry, chromatography, analytical instrumentation, or other SCIEX-relevant technologies, with experience supporting customer-facing commercial teams.
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS), instructional design, e-learning development, and supporting global commercial organizations across multiple regions and cultures.

The annual salary range for this role is $130k-142K This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
