Role Overview:

This role is based in Indianapolis, IN and supports day-to-day terminal operations in a rail and yard environment. The facility plays a key role in supporting customer supply chains through efficient movement of freight, equipment, and inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily terminal operations, including yard management, rail operations, and equipment flow
  • Ensure safe and efficient execution of loading, unloading, and movement of freight
  • Lead and develop terminal staff, including scheduling, performance management, and policy enforcement
  • Drive safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, service levels, and cost
  • Manage terminal budgets, including labor, equipment, and operational expenses
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer communication and issue resolution
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency, safety, and overall terminal performance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, terminal, rail, or operations management
  • Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong understanding of transportation, yard management, and terminal operations
  • Experience with TMS/WMS systems and operational reporting
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead teams in a dynamic environment

Skills Required

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, terminal, rail, or operations management
  • Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong understanding of transportation, yard management, and terminal operations
  • Experience with TMS/WMS systems and operational reporting
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead teams in a dynamic environment
  • Drive safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
