Position Summary and Role Impact:

The Senior, Technology Project Manager (STPM) is a senior individual contributor responsible for converting approved business and technology priorities into coordinated, executable delivery plans. The role leads complex, cross-functional initiatives from initiation through implementation and closure, integrating scope, schedules, resources, financials, dependencies, testing, business readiness, governance, and change control to achieve defined outcomes.

Operating at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution, the STPM partners with Product, Architecture, Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Quality, Finance, and external vendors. The position applies Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or Hybrid delivery practices as appropriate, while maintaining disciplined project governance, transparent JIRA and Confluence records, and concise executive reporting.

In this role, the STPM is expected to create clarity in ambiguous situations, anticipate cross-team impacts, challenge assumptions constructively, drive timely decisions, hold teams accountable for commitments, and escalate delivery risks with context, business impact, options, and recommendations.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead complex technology initiatives from intake and initiation through implementation and closure, establishing clear scope, outcomes, milestones, delivery approach, and success measures.
  • Create and maintain integrated delivery plans that align cross-functional workstreams, resources, budgets, dependencies, testing, business readiness, and production implementation activities.
  • Own project governance artifacts, including scope, schedules, RAID logs, decision records, change controls, financial tracking, status reports, and closure documentation.
  • Drive accountability for deliverables and commitments; identify emerging risks early, remove impediments, and escalate with clear context, business impact, options, and recommendations.
  • Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies and apply Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid practices appropriate to the initiative while maintaining enterprise governance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and current JIRA and Confluence records, dashboards, roadmaps, workflow structures, delivery metrics, and portfolio-level reporting.
  • Translate technical and business information into concise, decision-oriented communications for executives, sponsors, control partners, and delivery teams.
  • Coordinate with Product, Architecture, Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Quality, Finance, and external partners to ensure delivery readiness and adherence to applicable controls and standards.
  • Monitor delivery performance and value realization using measurable outcomes, milestones, KPIs, quality indicators, and corrective action plans.

Requirements for Success:

  • Enterprise leadership: Ability to lead through influence in a matrixed environment, align competing priorities, and coordinate multiple teams toward shared outcomes.
  • Execution discipline: Demonstrated ability to convert ambiguous objectives into structured plans, clear ownership, measurable milestones, and timely delivery.
  • Risk and decision management: Sound judgment in identifying delivery threats, evaluating trade-offs, escalating early, and driving timely decisions and corrective actions.
  • Technical fluency: Sufficient understanding of software development, system integration, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, testing, DevOps, and deployment practices to challenge assumptions and coordinate technical delivery.
  • Agile leadership: Ability to coach teams on Scrum practices, improve flow and predictability, remove impediments, and maintain focus on outcomes rather than ceremonies alone.
  • Data integrity and transparency: Commitment to keeping JIRA, plans, risks, dependencies, financials, and executive reporting complete, accurate, and current.
  • Communication and influence: Ability to synthesize complex information, facilitate productive conflict, tailor messages to the audience, and communicate decisions, risks, and recommendations with clarity.
  • Ownership and follow-through: Proactive, results-oriented approach with the resilience to manage changing priorities, maintain momentum, and close actions without relying on positional authority.
  • Control mindset: Working knowledge of governance, audit, regulatory, security, and internal control expectations in an enterprise or regulated environment.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of Technical Project Management experience.
  • Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
  • Experience managing software development, system integration, cloud, and enterprise technology initiatives.
