NEXTPOWER is the leading provider of intelligent solar tracking systems, offering advanced solutions that optimize the performance and reliability of utility-scale solar power plants around the world. Our talented worldwide team is transforming PV plant performance every day with smart technology, data monitoring and analysis services.

As a part of our strategic growth, NEXTPOWER has expanded into the business of solar PV module frames. NEXTPOWER is building upon the company’s achievements in solar tracker structures, wind engineering, and steel components to deliver the next generation PV module frame.  By offering this product, we can help PV module companies improve module reliability and reduce power plant construction labor at a competitive cost.

We are looking for a Sr. Technical Product Manager to work with PV module manufacturers to qualify and test our module frame products and to coordinate with our development team in the United States.

This role is based in NEXTPOWER's Shanghai office.

  • Self-motivated, independent, technical aptitude and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable in a dynamic atmosphere with a rapidly expanding customer base and product offering
  • Proven ability to follow orders from management team and solve complex problems during all tests

Desired Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar discipline
  • 5+ years of technical experience with PV modules.
  • Knowledge of module testing and IEC compliance, testing PV modules and other solar equipment
  • Experience managing programs with teams across different countries, Willingness to travel globally
  • Experience resolving issues from the field, performing root cause analysis, and designing mitigations
  • Experience presenting complex technical materials to executives
  • Proficiency in English language at a professional level.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Meet with customer R&D teams to understand their module qualification process and to help them qualify their products with NEXTPOWER components
  • Communicate program status and customer requirements to the U.S. development team and to other NEXTPOWER teams outside China. Work as part of a global team to help meet customer needs.
  • Work to understand and solve technical issues that stand in the way of product qualification.
  • Manage program schedules. Ensure that NEXTPOWER product qualifications are achieved according to plan.
  • Manage work at third party laboratories including writing work scopes, providing test materials for testing, and reviewing reports.
  • Provide written plans for the product development teams on what improvements should be made to the product to reduce cost and improve customer satisfaction
