The Sr Technical Product Manager, Robotics is responsible for defining and delivering the technical vision for products in the surgical robotics space. Collaborating closely with R&D leaders, engineers, and cross-functional teams, this role ensures the development of innovative technical product roadmaps aligned with business goals and technological feasibility. This individual will develop and manage technical project timelines, set and drive sprint goals and roadmap commitments, and identify and mitigate program risks within the engineering teams. They will play a meaningful role in the success of our programs by developing, driving, and supporting product development strategies and practices surrounding requirements documentation, architecture planning, risk management, testing, and release.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the product roadmap and platform backlog, including feature intake, prioritization, grooming, and readiness, ensuring alignment with business goals, customer needs, technical strategy, and delivery capacity.
- Translate roadmap priorities into executable plans by defining quarterly objectives, developing coordinated delivery plans, and maintaining backlogs that connect long‑range strategy to day‑to‑day execution.
- Drive end‑to‑end execution of cross‑functional R&D initiatives by tracking work against commitments, managing dependencies and risks, and ensuring predictable delivery across the product development lifecycle—from concept through design transfer and release.
- Lead planning, tracking, and execution cadence using Agile and program management practices (e.g., sprint planning, reviews, dependency management), leveraging these mechanisms to implement the roadmap rather than serving as a dedicated Scrum Master or standalone Program Manager.
- Partner closely with engineering, product management, clinical, and functional leaders to align scope, priorities, and timelines, proactively surface tradeoffs, and resolve execution blockers.
- Use data and metrics to inform decisions and course‑correct, including tracking delivery health, milestone progress, and key performance indicators related to scope, schedule, quality, and risk.
- Communicate clearly and proactively with leadership and partners, providing regular updates on roadmap progress, execution status, risks, and mitigation plans to support timely, informed decision‑making.
