- Manage and monitor the technical project delivery and integrated quality review processes within the office, or within responsible offices, for all projects across all disciplines.
- Meet regularly with the Business Practice Leader (BPL) and provide information on project status and potential risk.
- Develop and implement with the region's Office Technical Leaders, Senior Project Architects and Project Engineering Leaders a strategy for continuous proactive Quality engagement.
- Meet regularly with project leadership in responsible offices to schedule and coordinate staffing and status for quality reviews for all disciplines and address ongoing challenges.
- Engage with the development of Project Risk Assessments and all phase updates. Support and help manage project risk mitigation strategies.
- Guide and assist teams in the development of Project Quality Plans and their updates to effectively manage project quality including phase milestone quality reviews and project pinups / technical charettes.
- Guide teams to implement the firm technical document standards and Construction Administration phase policies.
- Act as a proactive resource to project teams in their decision-making processes and provide support in the development of technically sound and innovative design solutions, focused on those projects at greatest risk. Engage members of the Technical Leadership Group as needed.
- Meet with project teams on a regular basis to monitor work in progress and ensure that the firm’s process standards and procedures are being implemented.
- Lead development of office quality plans that define a customized, effective quality strategy for the region and responsible offices.
- Attend, participate and engage in Technical Leader meetings held with the Technical Leadership Group. Contribute to ongoing planning with fellow Technical Leaders and the Technical Leadership Group to develop and improve quality resources.
- Monitor overall office metrics, including factors for risk, quality, sustainability, technology and construction, to identify and elevate near- and long-term concerns.
- Participate in the hiring process for new senior technical staff within the responsible offices and provide feedback on candidates.
- Strategically engage in project phase quality reviews, engaging and managing other project reviewers as needed. Act as lead quality reviewer for very large projects, organizing the efforts of others in reviewing specific scopes of work.
- Strategize to engage technical project leadership's proactive involvement in other projects to ensure that all projects have senior guidance and proactive mentoring.
- Establish strategies that drive the capture and reuse of institutional knowledge within the firm and share with the Technical Leadership Group.
- Write technical articles relating to technical quality subjects for internal and/or external publication within area of expertise.
- Evaluate and guide introduction of new building technologies, methods, and materials.
- Initiate and lead regular office forums to share technical insights and foster a culture of technical excellence. Lead and initiate ongoing mentoring and training to support continuous improvement.
- Meet established utilization target.

- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
- Minimum 18 years of related professional experience in Architecture and/or Engineering. Experience includes 5 years in increasingly responsible roles in construction documentation on institutional and/or commercial projects and at least 3 years in a responsible role in construction administration on large institutional and/or commercial projects.
- Current Architectural Registration or Professional Engineer license in the United States required.
- Must have extensive experience designing, documenting, coordinating and administering the construction of significant institutional and/or commercial projects. Expertise in institutional and/or commercial codes, standards and familiarity with proven solutions to address often wildly conflicting requirements between building authorities, client needs, construction technologies and insurance provisions is essential.
- Demonstrated focus on quality.
- LEED accreditation preferred.
- Experience leading all technical aspects with production teams on large, complex projects of more than $200M construction costs.
- Strong technical leadership with knowledge of building codes and requirements.
- Must have the ability to be client facing with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong business acumen, technical knowledge, coordination skills and the ability to build a rapport with the project team is essential.
- Advanced understanding of REVIT and BIM workflows.
- Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Teams, and construction management software.
