Job DescriptionThis position will own all specs, patterns, grade review, fit session management, and will communicate directly with suppliers to ensure proper understanding of technical corrections needed for the next sample stage. The role of Senior Technical Designer will be responsible for managing any construction improvements and will work closely with design and product development to collectively make great quality active apparel. There is an opportunity for additional breadth of responsibilities in this role as we continue to grow as a brand.
What you'll get to do:
- New style set up with specs (includes pattern adjustments and pattern creation from scratch)
- Manage/Maintain all specs and grades from initial set up through production
- (proto’s, PPs, Size Sets, TOPs)
- Prepares and leads all fittings (measures and pre-fits garments)
- Organizes weekly fit schedule for assigned products
- Communicates all fit and construction related comments to the vendor and internal teams within development and production timelines and in a professional manner.
- Establishes and maintains fit, construction standards and blocks to ensure fit consistency and quality.
- Responsible for managing and hitting all deadlines along with communicating any challenges.
- Works to improve fit and quality through review of customers' comments, sales feedback and understanding of competition. Including instore retail quality checks post product launches.
- Partner with manager on fit model analysis/booking go sees and maintains model data base.
- Partner with manager by recording costs associated to fit model booking.
- Understands how to read and correct patterns through 2D software.
- 3D software a plus, will be required to obtain V-stitcher certification if not already completed.
- Complete understanding and knowledge of grading.
- Organized with time management and attention to detail.
- Maintain full understanding of assigned styles and historical issues
- Strong understanding of fabrications and how they react with silhouettes.
- Is a team player and leader, able to work closely with other team members to help manage overall workload with regards to construction, fit, approvals, comments, timelines, etc.
- Responsible for providing all product related fit details for catalog / website.
Who you are:
- Degree in tech design, patternmaking, or related field and/or equivalent years of experience preferred.
- 7+ years’ experience in technical design roles.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams (design, development, merch and production, vendor base).
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must have experience communicating with vendors overseas.
- Must have experience working with vendors onsite
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Must be able to work proficiently in Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator
- Knowledge of computer patternmaking is required (example: Gerber, 3D V-Stitcher / Browzewear)
- Knowledge of PLM is a plus

The salary range for this role is $117,700 per year - $151,410 per year. This role is bonus eligible.
