Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Design, develop, and maintains complex Tableau reports for scalability, manageability, performance, and re-use.
- Manage Tableau-driven architecture, and administration.
- Create visualizations using best practices to be used across the firm.
- Team lead for Tableau projects.
- Project lead in planning and delivery efforts, using prior experiences to suggest alternative or more innovative solutions.
- Work with stakeholders and internal teams to translate requirements into KPIs and visually appealing dashboards.
- Build and contribute to the maintenance of the team’s style guide to help establish standards in visual design.
- Develop an understanding of underlying data and business uses of data.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement in existing dashboards and subsequently implement these improvements.
- Experiment with new features and enhancements released by Tableau and bring them into the platform & organization.
- Drive user adoption of Tableau by providing expertise on best practices, and innovative solutions.
- Assist with any ad-hoc dashboard requests that come up.
- Define access controls and implement security measures whenever required.
- Independently resolve general and complex data or performance issues related to workbooks and data sources.
- Tableau training and assistance.
- Mentor and motivate others in building Tableau reports.
- Performs any and all other duties as necessary for efficient functioning of the Department, Office and Firm.
QUALIFICATIONS / KSAs
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of demonstrated skills and experience.
- Extensive experience (ideally 5-10 years of experience) in developing, maintaining, and managing Tableau driven dashboards & analytics and working knowledge of Tableau administration/architecture.
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational database design and implementation.
- Fluency in best practices for data visualization.
- Experience mentoring others in the building of Tableau reports.
- Expertise in using in-depth Tableau capabilities, techniques and standards to produce dashboards and reports that support business needs.
- Experience with interactive filters, parameters, and calculations for dashboards and worksheets in Tableau.
- Experience with level of detail expressions and table calculations in Tableau.
- Work independently on projects, contributing to both project leadership, design and implementation.
- Communicate effectively with non-technical internal clients.
- Highly organized and exceptional attention to detail.
