Department OverviewThe 911 Next Gen Core Services team is comprised of portfolio management, operations, and delivery teams. Vesta Solutions Cyber Security department is focused on providing the best possible security solutions to protect public safety solutions, operators, and users.
Job Description

The role of the NextGen Core Services System Engineer is to design and implement solutions which connect Next Generation 911 call traffic between Originating Service Providers (OSP’s), through our Vesta Core Router Solution and to Public Safety Answering Points. This includes configuration planning of IT, Transport, and network system interfaces.This position also assists in maintaining, monitoring and managing the deployed data flows.

Develops, designs, evaluates, and/or modifies systems consistent with customer and regulatory requirements. Develops system architecture, and ensures the integrity of the architecture/design. Systems Engineers handle the software configuration to make sure everything works given the various customer configurations.

Qualifications:

Experience with KVM, Docker, Openstack, Linux, Windows Server, VMware ESXi, Red Hat, Active Directory, Network Policy, and Powershell a plus.

Experience with Container Orchestration and Azure Container Instances a plus.

Ability to understand and articulate details associated with existing customer networks and create customer specific procedures to integrate.

Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced organization with aggressive deadlines.

Ability to work independently and within a team environment, maintaining accountability to management.

Ability to travel up to 15%. 

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Basic Requirements

At least 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience

Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by our government customers.
