The Role

JOB DESCRIPTION

Vertafore is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with Windows System administration and virtualization expertise to join our SaaS Operations organization in Hyderabad, India. The role will primarily focus on managing and maintaining the life cycle of Vertafore's Windows Servers, VMWare environment and patch management. The successful candidate will report to the Sr Manager of SaaS Operations.

Core Requirements and Responsibilities:

· Design, configure, manage and maintain the Windows server infrastructure.

· Addressing vulnerabilities with patch management with experience of patch deployment for thousands of servers.

· Domain hardening with AD Group policy configurations and PowerShell.

· Regularly works with the Security and risk management team to understand the current security risks and what patching needs to be deployed and prioritized.

· Responsible for engineering and building of servers and VMWare-related software and hardware

· Oversee environments, including planning upgrades, staying on top of EOL dates, and documenting inter-dependencies

· Provided regular management reports to provide vulnerability status and security health.

· Create all necessary documentation, including system standards, run-books, and more

· Be on call as required or available weekend to drive patch deployment exercises.

· Strictly follow configuration, change, and release management protocols.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Proven experience with Windows server 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022 administration, including server build and patching.

· Expertise in managing patch management tools Tanium, SCCM and WSUS.

· Strong knowledge in Active Directory, DNS and Group policy management.

· Ability to troubleshoot problems on Windows environments.

· Experience in patching servers and software deployments.

· Familiar with the ITIL process. Experience in implementing and maintaining IT Service Management (ITSM) tools

· Good automation experience using any automation tools or scripting tools such as but not limited to PowerShell and Bash scripting.

· Good communication skills and ability to interact with others professionally.

Qualifications:

  • 3.6 – 5.6 years of performing the same role
  • MCSA or higher certification is a must
  • Preference to have exposure and experience with AWS (preferred) or other cloud provider.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Business Information Engineering, or established professional with equivalent experience.

Additional Requirements and Details:

· May require to work odd hours/rotation shifts to provide certificate and encryption service support Need to be flexible to work over weekends to complete maintenance activity.
