The Sr. Systems Engineer will be responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of our rapidly growing systems infrastructure. You will be part of a talented team of engineers and administrators that demonstrate technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security to our fully virtualized on-premises private cloud. We are looking for candidates that have extensive experience in VMware, Citrix, SAN Architecture, Microsoft Server/Active Directory, Blade Center and Azure Cloud Services.

We are ideally seeking a candidate that can come on-site to our Manchester, CT HQ 1-2 days a week (hybrid role). For the right candidate we could potentially consider more remote.

 Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for VMware VSphere 6/7 environment, ESX host setup, VM rollouts, troubleshooting, maintenance, etc.
  • Maintains hands-on experience with Blade Server Setup, installation, and troubleshooting
  • Recommend, design and implement new technology for the Company
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of computer system performance tuning
  • Ensures smooth day-to-day operations
  • Establishes and maintains related technical standards and procedures
  • Collects, monitors, and analyzes systems performance data
  • Effectively troubleshoots Windows, Linux and other company approved operating systems and applications
  • Ability to perform all requirements of the company Windows Systems Administrator position

 
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years direct experience with VMware VSphere (versions 6 and 7) environments
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Server Products and Applications, MS Group Policies, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Azure Cloud Services, Microsoft 365, DNS, DHCP, etc.
  • Experience directly troubleshooting Windows, Linux and other approved operating systems and applications
  • Understanding of Windows systems administration functionality
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer: Core Infrastructure
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect
  • VMware Certified Professional
  • Experience with current-gen Blade Server setup, installation, configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Equallogic and/or Compellent SANs
  • Knowledge of computer system performance tuning
  • Experience with SQL, Exchange, Linux, Citrix

Expected Base Pay Not Including Potential Commissions, Incentive, Bonus, etc. Opportunities:

100-140k base salary
