JOB SUMMARY 

The Sr. Systems Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. This role involves ensuring that the availability of systems is maintained, performance is optimized, and that issues are promptly resolved. The Sr. Systems Administrator will also oversee system installations, upgrades, and configurations, while ensuring system security and compliance with organizational policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES 

System Management: 

  • Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring optimal performance and uptime. 
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes as necessary. 

Configuration and Deployment: 

  • Install and configure new hardware and software, ensuring proper setup and integration into existing systems. 
  • Develop and implement system configuration standards and documentation for future reference. 

Security and Compliance: 

  • Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with relevant regulations. 
  • Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with organizational security policies. 

Backup and Recovery: 

  • Establish and maintain backup procedures to ensure data integrity and availability. 
  • Develop disaster recovery plans and conduct periodic testing of recovery procedures. 

Collaboration and Support: 

  • Collaborate with IT teams and departments to understand system requirements and provide support as needed. 
  • Provide technical support to end-users, resolving issues and providing training as necessary. 

Continuous Improvement: 

  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance system performance and security. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the systems administration function. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Required 

·       Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

·       Experience:

o    5+ years of experience in systems administration, with a focus on managing servers and applications in a corporate environment. 

o   Proven experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure). 

o   Strong understanding of network protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, etc.). 

o   Familiarity with security best practices and experience in implementing security measures.

  • Frequently required to sit. 
  • Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity. 
  • Frequently required to talk or hear. 
  • Occasionally exposed to computer screens for extended periods.
