Job Description

KIOXIA America Inc. is looking for a Staff System Test Engineer to join our Customer Technical Support team in Round Rock Texas. This role reports to the Central Region Customer Support Program Manager. Our ideal candidate needs to be experienced in maintaining Enterprise servers and Storage hardware to successfully complete KIOXIA Storage Product qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as a lead system test engineer qualifying KIOXIA SSD SAS and NVMe products for our OEM customers.
  • Create, Maintain, and manage test scripts and execute test plans for our Tier 1 customer servers and storage platforms.
  • Setup and maintain server and storage systems hardware and software applications
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer server and storage hardware, storage architecture, software applications, and operating systems to make sure we have what we need for qualification testing in our lab
  • Engage with the customer and engineering teams to refine and validate qualification test plans, determine hardware, software, and drive quantities required and work with internal resources to meet requirements and develop schedules that meet the customer's expectations.
  • Troubleshoot hardware or system related issues and perform first-level failure analysis on SSD drives that fail during qualification and drives returned for urgent field issues.
  • Perform other lab-related functions related to the support of our products and customers, including planning for new test equipment purchases, maintenance and configuration of existing equipment infrastructure as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in software or test development with hardware, firmware and storage background is required
  • Candidate must have a high understanding of Enterprise server/storage hardware including storage area networks, storage architecture, Linux based operating systems, Windows systems, and storage file systems
  • Requires knowledge of SSD, NVMe & SAS interfaces, storage architecture, operating systems, and RAID file systems
  • Bash scripting expertise required and Windows Batch scripting desirable
  • Experience with SAS/NVMe protocol analyzers is desirable
  • Experience in IT and network configurations is desirable
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize and complete simultaneous issues and tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer engagement skills
  • Self-directed and motivated to consistently deliver high-quality work

Education:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, Electrical, Electronics or Computer Science) or equivalent of minimum of 7 years of experience in technical industry with enterprise SSD technologies and Hardware Testing experience.

The expected salary for this position is $99,560.00 - $165,930.00.
