Job Description:

Job Summary
  • Responsible for supporting Environmental Sustainability and Leadership in developing and maintaining sustainability plans and models. Manages governance and Executive reporting and supports internal and external communication needs and efforts. Additionally, responsible for supporting Executive needs related to all Environmental Sustainability. This includes planning and strategy support at the initiative, Department, and Enterprise-level.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all aspects of strategic planning, including market research, trend analysis, crafting goals and developing plans
  • Develop and own complex models that support our decarbonization plans (near-, mid-, and long-term), sustainable aviation fuel deals, and other Environmental Sustainability initiatives (e.g., energy, recycling, electrification of ground services equipment)
  • Manage governance process within sustainability, including Environmental Sustainability Executive Steering Group and other regular Executive updates, as well as outside of sustainability, including Board of Directors, Enterprise Alignment, and other updates
  • Develop Executive-level presentations and materials in support of governance updates and other needs both on a regular and ad-hoc basis
  • Manage Environmental Sustainability portfolio and roadmap and track initiatives and milestones in support of Environmental Sustainability goals
  • Report regularly on progress towards goals, such as through Board of Directors and Enterprise Alignment updates, and in support across the Company, such as FP&A and Investor Relations
  • Develop deep understanding on sustainability topics such as sustainable aviation fuel, new aircraft propulsion technologies, operational practices, waste reduction, and other topics
  • Support evaluations and consideration of potential financial investments in this space
  • Work with the Leader responsible for the area and the Environmental Sustainability Team to develop the near-term, mid-term, and long-term environmental sustainability plan
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders

  • Highly skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organization’s strategic plan
  • Highly skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Highly skilled in building Executive level PowerPoint decks and presentations; presenting to upper-level management; strategic and financial analysis
  • Highly skilled in quantitative and analytical modeling
  • Highly skilled in verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated initiative and flexibility while managing through ambiguity
  • Ability to contend with a range of large and complex business problems
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events)
  • Ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
  • Expert level experience, expansive and far reaching knowledge in:
    • Working directly with Department Leaders (VP and Director level) on complex business issues
    • Developing and presenting recommendations to Senior Executives on opportunities
    • Building Executive level PowerPoint decks and presentations; presenting to upper level management; strategic and financial analysis; analytical and quantitative skills with spreadsheets or other quantitative modeling
    • Understanding environmental sustainability goals, priorities, key trends, and issues
    • Working in the airline or transportation industry
    • Planning and modeling greenhouse gas emissions/ decarbonization and sustainable aviation fuel deal

Physical Abilities
  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Possible travel of up to 15%

Pay & Benefits

  • Competitive market salary from $122,200 per year to $135,800 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
