Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Supply Planner to join our team. As a Senior Supply Planner, you will be responsible for leading and owning the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, proposing supply scenarios, running supply planning software, monitoring inventory, acting as a subject matter expert (SME) at CMO Site Supply meetings, managing the Master Production Schedule (MPS), and taking ownership of inventory levels at our third-party logistics (3PL) partner.

Location/Territory:     Newark, CA (3 days/week onsite)

Salary Range:     $89,125 - $122,578


Responsibilities/Essential Duties:

  • Own the Sales and Operations Planning Process (S&OP):
    • Lead the end-to-end S&OP process, collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather inputs and drive alignment between demand and supply plans.
    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize the S&OP process and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
    • Analyze and reconcile sales forecasts, production capacity, and inventory levels to ensure accurate supply planning.
  • Gather and Update Assumptions to Propose Supply Scenarios:
    • Collect and analyze relevant data to develop assumptions for supply.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate and update assumptions on an ongoing basis, considering market trends, customer demands, and operational capabilities.
    • Utilize gathered information to propose supply scenarios for a 2-year horizon, taking into account various factors such as lead times, capacity constraints, and inventory targets.
  • Run Supply Scenarios in a Supply Planning Software:
    • Utilize advanced supply planning software to run multiple supply scenarios based on proposed assumptions.
    • Evaluate the impact of different scenarios on inventory levels, production capacity, and customer service metrics.
    • Generate comprehensive reports and insights from the software to facilitate informed decision-making and proactive supply chain plans.
  • Inventory Reporting and Monitoring:
    • Monitor and report on inventory levels across multiple locations, ensuring inventory accuracy and timely updates.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
    • Optimize inventory levels, minimize stock-outs, and reduce carrying costs.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) from Supply Planning at CMO Site Supply Meetings:
    • Act as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for supply planning at Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) site supply meetings.
    • Collaborate with CMOs to ensure timely and efficient supply of materials and finished products, addressing any supply-related issues and proactively identifying improvement opportunities.
    • Provide guidance and support to CMOs in optimizing production schedules and aligning with overall supply chain goals.
  • Owner of the Master Production Schedule (MPS):
    • Develop, maintain, and communicate the Master Production Schedule based on the outcome from the S&OP Process.
    • Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure adherence to the MPS, resolve scheduling conflicts, and optimize resource allocation.
    • Monitor and proactively communicate any changes or deviations in the production schedule to relevant stakeholders.
  • Owner of Inventory Levels at 3PL:
    • Act as the primary owner and coordinator for inventory management at the 3PL partner.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree & 2 years of Supply Chain experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree & 4 years of Supply Chain experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASCM CPIM Certification.
  • Experience as a Supply Planner within a complex manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and experience with 3PLs. 
  • Strong proficiency in supply planning software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
