Shift: 9:00am-5:30pm Mon-Fri (some Saturday and Sunday as business demands)
Position Description
The Quality Control Sr. Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of associates to ensure and maintain high-quality standards throughout the facility. QC Supervisor plans, coordinates, and directs a quality control program designed to provide continuous productivity consistent with established standards by performing the following duties:
Responsibilities

Leads a team of 1-5 quality associates in a distribution/warehouse environment

Develops and analyzes statistical data and evaluates existing standardized processes to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of product cycle inside facility from receiving, put away, picking, and outbound handling processes.

Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives for product handling procedures in cooperation with quality assurance personnel and distribution center leaders to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

Performs thorough visual inspections to determine acceptability and adherence to customer and internal SCLS specifications and provides expertise as needed.

Investigates and responds to customer complaints regarding quality. Maintains detailed records of quality issues, action plans, and improvement efforts to decrease future reoccurrence.

Ensures exceptional customer service key performance indicators (KPIs)

Audits processes to ensure quality standards are being met and detect the root causes of problems

Applies Lean/CI principles and leads Lean projects to implement site-wide improvements, decrease defects/damages, increase productivity, reduce cost, and eliminate waste.

Provides quality standards and defect ranges (panoplies) as needed for production

Maintains and updates work instructions and processes across all departments to increase consistency and reduce defects, damages, and non-compliance with customer SLAs

Maintains a clean, professional, and safe working environment by meeting or exceeding SCLS corporate safety goals

Promotes constant and measurable improvement; always teaches and enforces SCLS’ Quality Policy

Conducts annual performance reviews for all staff within the department

Personally coaches, trains, and mentors direct reports to ensure personal growth and career development

Develop regular daily, weekly, and monthly quality service reports that are shared with the Client, giving visibility to volumes, service commitments, etc. These are shared with multiple layers of SCLS leadership and our client.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
-
High School Diploma or GED required.
-
At least four years of supervisory experience in ISO or another quality program, ideally performed in a warehouse or distribution environment.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt strongly preferred. Extensive practical knowledge will be considered instead of formal certification.

Knowledge of truckload, LTL, and parcel shipping helpful
-
WMS experience is a plus (JDA used on site)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement concepts with experience managing Lean/CI projects

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet, web-based, and job-specific software applications

Demonstrated leadership skills to influence department and implement and manage change

Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships to accomplish work goals by listening, sharing ideas, and appreciating others’ efforts

Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; possess solid judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
