Lead design and coordination of MV/HV/EHV substations and utility-scale solar plants, creating GA and erection drawings, performing ETAP system studies, earthing and lightning calculations, cable and equipment sizing, preparing technical specs/RFPs, supporting pre-dispatch inspections, testing and commissioning, and ensuring compliance with standards and HSE/IMS.

The role and responsibilities essentially includes -
- Shall be responsible for complete internal and external project co-ordination till project completion.
- Shall be able to do detailed designs of solar plants, switchyard and MV and HV system.
- Design of HV & EHV AIS and GIS Substations.
- Knowledge in Substation Engineering Specification and Standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI, SEC, IS etc.)
- Ability to perform system studies like short circuit, load flow - P&Q in ETAP Software.
- Preparation of Switchyard GA drawings, erection key drawing, clearance diagrams, and detailed technical specifications for all switchyard equipments for the AIS and GIS up to 420 kV.
- Shall be able to understand MV Panel and control relay panels drawings/schematics.
- Able to prepare complete technical specification/RFP documents as per project requirements.
- Substation Earthing Calculation as per IEEE 80, IS 3043 and related standards: Earthing conductor sizing and earth mat design.
- Transmission line conductor sizing and Short circuit force calculation.
- Power Cable (HV and LV) sizing & calculation; Control Cable sizing, length Calculations and cable accessories selections.
- General Technical Parameters, Design Memorandum, check list preparation, Equipment sizing and configuration for the AIS and GIS.
- Lightning risk assessment and lightning calculations for design for the GIS substation as per IEC and IEEE guidelines.
- Sizing calculations for Lightning arrester, disconnector, power transformers, battery charger, CT - VT sizing with knee point voltage calculations and all associated equipments for switchyard.
- Able to understand and prepare Control Panel & Relay panel schematics, BOQ and Site accessories.
- Ability to select the components like (MCB, Contactor, Relays, connectors, etc.).
- Able to do pre-dispatch inspection and perform pre-commissioning test for all switchyard and solar plant equipments independently. Coordination and support for testing and commission of Control & relay panel.
- Preparation of Mimic diagram with dimension and Alarm signals.
- Load calculation AC & DC
- Selection of BCU, Metering, Partial discharge (PD), Control Switch device (RPH) I/O cards etc.
- Able to understand and prepare Software and Hardware interlocking drawing/ table/ logic diagram for different type of bay configurations.
- Familiar with SAS architecture as per utility guidelines.
- Follow the integrated management system (IMS) requirement set by the company.
Requirements
- Candidate shall be preferably from Consultancy / EPC background with exposure on utility scale solar PV projects.
- Candidate shall be preferably to have Exposure to the on-site for solar and switchyard projects. Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS office is essential, ETAP, PV Syst, Sketchup, Dialux tools will be advantageous.
- Willingness to travel and stay as per requirement in India and abroad.
- Candidate needs to comply with organizations HSE commitment.
