Sr. Strategic Sourcing Specialist
As a Lead Strategic Sourcing Specialist here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in driving procurement of materials and services in alignment with business leadership. You will be responsible for establishing and executing procurement strategies to achieve the lowest total cost, reduced working capital, and ensure supply continuity. This role requires strong negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic global environment.
You will report directly to our New Product Sourcing Leader in India, and you’ll work out of our Bangalore, India location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the company by driving competitive commodity and category supply strategies, managing supplier performance, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. You will also contribute to the growth and success of the business by identifying cost-saving opportunities, implementing value engineering initiatives, and eliminating sole/single sources.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive and execute Annual and Strategic Plan with supporting strategies.
- Right and Fast execution of strategies to align with business Growth and New Product Introductions
- Manage Category and Commodity Strategies including spend analysis, Benchmarking, Cost, Market Analysis, and Global Technology/Economic trends.
- Build new relationships with key Supplier Leadership.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Technology, Business, Operations, Finance, and Quality and other Honeywell Businesses
- Lead Supplier selection, RFQ and RFI process, Negotiation, Contracting, and supplier performance processes.
- Apply effective Sourcing supplier risk assessment methodologies to ensure supplier continuity.
- Improve Working Capital through Payment Terms extensions, Payment cycle optimization, Vendor Managed Inventories and Lead time reductions.
- Responsible for looking for appropriate supplier parts and conducting early supplier engagement.
- Working within the flawless launch boundaries and IPDS (Integrated Product Development System) ways of working.
- Coordinate with Procurement and supplier contracting teams to ensure that parts on selected programs are awarded and contracted to preferred suppliers, and purchase orders place to meet program requirements.
- Work across different functions to ensure smooth delivery and making sure parts meet program spec and cost targets.
- Create and conduct reporting for sourcing leadership and tracking program statuses.
- Driving to negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost goals and meet delivery time frames.
- Experience in negotiating PRC / BTS and RSP Contracts.
YOU MUST HAVE - Bachelor’s degree with minimum of three years' experience in Supply Management
- Extensive experience in sourcing & procurement
- Working and/or Leading in Matrix and complex Team Environments
- Project Management and/or Contract Management Experience
- Professional Certifications in Project/Supply Chain/ Procurement/Contract Management
- Team Leader experience in Supply Management/Sourcing/Procurement/Business
- Demonstrated Business and financial acumen.
- Experience with SAP, E Sourcing Platforms, Request for Quotation Tools, Project
- Sourcing/Procurement, Engineering, Program Management and/or New Product Launches
- Proven background in project management
- Knowledge of contracts terms and conditions.
- Ideally within aerospace but will accept people from a mechanical/industrial background.
- Ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
- Previous experience working within an NPI function would be desirable.
