The Sr Staff Technical Product Manager - DT (Digital Technology) fosters a strong and effective partnership with various functions, including project management, contract management, logistics, finance, sourcing, and more, focusing on Project Execution within Gas Power HDGT and across GE Vernova. This role involves providing the necessary processes, tools, and applications to execute projects and achieve business goals. The role includes driving and implementing business specific or global solutions that utilize other Primavera CoE solutions.
As a member of the Primavera CoE, you will be tasked with defining and executing strategic roadmaps, focusing on initiatives that support business objectives and meet On Time Delivery (OTD) targets. By leveraging key technologies, processes, and domain expertise, you will drive execution across multiple interdependent projects within a program. You will manage interfaces across applications that support and drive cross-functional and cross-system initiatives around Oracle Primavera P6, Pulse (homegrown platform), UDC (Unified Data Center – homegrown platform), Time Control, Safran and Oracle Primavera Unifier.
You will lead globally distributed vendor teams, ensuring they meet Safety Quality Delivery Cost (SQDC) targets and requirements. You will provide tactical direction, balancing the development of new capabilities, driving reuse, maintenance activities, issue resolution, technical debt, vulnerability management, and addressing the latest business priorities to enhance the team's quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
This role is crucial in ensuring consistency in platforms, tools, software architecture, and data integration strategy within your domains and across the GE Vernova application landscape. Additionally, you will define standard work within your domain of responsibility and establish lean execution standards and processes for project teams. You will also drive utilization of AI tools such as Claude Code across the team as part of these activities.
In this role, you will:
Product Ownership and Roadmap
- Act as the owner of platforms (multiple instances), applications and the satellite tools, within the CoE portfolio
- Drive the program in accordance with Application Ownership standard work processes.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define platform strategy, drive adoption, and maintain a product roadmap aligned with business value.
- Identify and drive implementation of cross-business solutions that deliver greater business value and increase reuse opportunities.
- Own and manage the backlog, continuously prioritizing based on validated customer problems, business needs, and strategic objectives to ensure PI and sprint readiness.
- Own the short-term roadmap for MVPs and quarterly releases.
- Translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units.
Cross-Functional Delivery and Execution
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver features and major, complex products across GE Vernova by leveraging Primavera CoE solutions and pillar applications.
- Manage day-to-day execution of multiple interdependent projects by working directly with global technical teams across Vernova and resolving roadblocks and dependencies.
- Partner with Development Leadership to ensure a healthy and effective development process.
- Engage closely with the development team to facilitate discussions, provide clarification, support story refinement and acceptance, and contribute to testing, validation, and design decisions.
Stakeholder Partnership and Business Alignment
- Engage customers and stakeholders to gather VOC, refine requirements, and obtain product feedback.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define appropriate scheduling and planning structures that support system integrations and leverage industry best practices through strong functional expertise
- Routinely collaborate with UX, Architecture, and Engineering teams on issues, governance, and strategic decisions.
- Use strong persuasion and influencing skills to align customers, product management, and software engineering teams.
Technical and Strategic Leadership
- Influence program direction and priorities by identifying opportunities that maximize business value, reuse, and long-term platform sustainability.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the technology stack and its impact on the final product.
- Apply strong problem decomposition skills and navigate ambiguity to drive effective solutions.
- Mentor and develop other Technical Product Managers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical discipline, or equivalent knowledge/experience.
- 11+ years of experience in IT.
- Strong experience implementing system integrations
- Demonstrable history of delivering quality IT projects on schedule.
- Significant IT experience with business systems and their influence on business functions.
- Strong leadership experience in a complex and fast-paced environment.
- Strong experience practicing Agile project management.
- Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and manage multiple interdependent initiatives.
