Position Overview:
The GridOS Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the GridOS Kubernetes infrastructure to support scalable, reliable, and secure application deployment. This role requires a deep understanding of container orchestration and cloud-native architecture principles. The architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive technological improvements and ensure best practices are followed. The role acts as a key decision maker and needs to collaborate with other architects on interoperability and arrive at a democratic and optimal solution. The role is part of the Solution Test and Cert team and will act as a leader for DevOps practices and implementation. Debugging and fixing performance issues is also a critical aspect of this role.
- Understand, Design and implement Kubernetes infrastructure solutions to support multiple application deployment processes ensuring interoperability
- Own solution reference architectures including solution security, deployment automation, performance, high availability and load balancing.
- Collaborate with development and services teams to optimize container orchestration and microservices architecture.
- Develop strategies for scaling, monitoring, and maintaining high-availability Kubernetes clusters.
- Ensure security best practices are integrated into Kubernetes architecture, including access controls and vulnerability management.
- Conduct performance analysis and implement improvements to enhance cluster efficiency and resource utilization. Should be able to use latest tools to monitor, capture and understand call stack and arrive at actual root cause.
- Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams regarding Kubernetes deployment and management.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
- Lead efforts for the automation of deployment processes, leveraging CI/CD tools and methodologies.
- Document architectural solutions and operational procedures for internal knowledge sharing and training purposes.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Extensive experience (15+ years) in containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly Kubernetes.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing cloud-native architectures and microservices.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools, such as Jenkins, Docker, Helm, Terraform and GitHub actions
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Go).
- Understanding of networking concepts, including service mesh and ingress controllers.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Certifications in Kubernetes (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer) are a plus.
- This role is pivotal in ensuring that the organization's Kubernetes infrastructure is robust, scalable, and optimally aligned with business objectives.
