Summary: This position will be responsible for reliability tests, failure analysis, and electrical qualifications of new high-power semiconductor devices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Run experiments, analyze data, and perform failure analysis to reduce low level failures
  • Failure Analysis + Problem Solve root cause for Field Failures. Help develop and implement solutions to prevent such fails in existing and future products.
  • Provide insight into trouble-shooting and product improvement.
  • Contribute to Switching and Transient Lifetime characterization of our devices
  • Provide insight into trouble-shooting and product improvement.
  • Determine lifetimes and predicted failure rates of new products based on accelerated measurements.
  • Develop longterm lifetime models that can predict reliable performance in specific mission profiles.
  • Formulate reliability qualification plans to satisfy potential customer mission profiles.

Qualifications

  • >5 years of hands-on industry experience in reliability methodology, tests and product qualifications in semiconductor industry. Possess a working knowledge of failure analysis tools and equipment.
  • M.S., Ph.D. preferred, material science, electrical engineering (semiconductor emphasis) or similar required.
  • Ability to propose, design, and implement reliability setups.
  • Knowledge of failure mechanisms in semiconductor devices and methods of identifying them.
  • Ability to identify evidence of atypical failures and to trace underlying causes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical approach to tasks.
  • Experience with circuits, programming, and/or modeling a plus.
  • Knowledge of methods and tools to determine device junction temperature and associated advantages and disadvantages.
  • Experience in reliability of high-voltage or wide-gap devices a plus.
  • Understanding of SPC as well as the ability to evaluate and present (written and verbal) results effectively.
