As a Senior Staff Accountant you will be responsible for supporting One80’s insurance and general ledger accounting for multiple divisions.  Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. Timely and accurate preparation of month-end reporting as well as claim processing and accounting for multiple programs.

Your Impact:

  • Reconciliation of cash transactions at least weekly to identify discrepancies prior to month-end reconciliation for all bank accounts.
  • Reconciliation of cash suspense and clearing accounts with supporting schedules.
  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies. Prepare backup schedules for balance sheet accounts
  • Preparation of journal entries for accruals and revenue for month-end reporting
  • Accurate and timely preparation of month-end reporting package.
  • Claims processing which includes bordereaux reconciliation, review and issuance of claim disbursements, and preparation of reports to carriers.
  • Perform all daily accounting responsibilities for Joint Venture Partnership including posting of cash receipts and disbursements
  • Compile, review and analyze monthly financial statements for Joint Venture Partnership including journal entries, reconciling, and analyzing GL accounts, supporting documentation and schedules, and variance reports.
  • Assist with 1099 and unclaimed property processes and procedures
  • Liaise with Senior Accountant Team Lead to develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential

Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • BS degree in Accounting/Finance  
  • 2+ years accounting experience in a relevant industry
  • Hands-on experience with insurance agency management systems (preferred)
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced, challenging, and ever-changing work environment
  • Self-starter, professional and assertive
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with preparation of financial accounting statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Technical software skills and experience:  MS Office (Word, PowerPoint)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and Pivot Tables
  • Ability to read, write and interpret documents, routine reports, and correspondence.

The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected annual pay range for this position is between $75,000 to $90,000 plus discretionary bonus. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
