The ideal candidate would have analytical skills, diligence, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a demanding environment. Additionally, they should have proficiency in accounting software, and an initiative-taking mindset towards process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts.
- Develop ad hoc reports as requested by customer and or operations.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and quarterly reviews.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including chart of accounts and accounting policies.
- Work with operations in analyzing performance including reviewing client related sales and expenses and comparing performance to budget.
- Review and reconcile labor including tracking and reporting labor costs associated to respective jobs.
- Review and analyze tax assessments for assigned operations providing client facing relevant tax reporting on monthly, quarterly, annual basis as required; Prepare and file sales/use tax reporting when indicated.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices within the accounting function.
- Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting or related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suites, with a particular emphasis on Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Ability to learn and work with ERP Software
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a demanding environment.
