What you will do:
As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will oversee end-to-end Singapore payroll operations with potential exposure to other SEA countries. Acting as a key partner between internal teams and external vendors, you will ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in payroll delivery. This role demands strong technical expertise, stakeholder management, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment, while offering excellent opportunities for regional career growth.
How you will do it:
- Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing for Singapore employees.
- Ensure compliance with CPF contributions, IRAS tax filings, and MOM regulations.
- Partner with external payroll vendors to ensure accurate and timely payroll execution across jurisdictions.
- Validate payroll data, reconcile reports, and ensure statutory contributions are correctly processed.
- Handle retro adjustments, reconciliations, and statutory filings (CPF, IRAS, MOM, BIR).
- Serve as the primary liaison with payroll vendors, ensuring service quality and contractual compliance. Review vendor deliverables, monitor performance, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Collaborate with vendors on system enhancements, process improvements, and compliance updates.
- Collaborate closely with local HR, Finance, and business stakeholders to strengthen payroll processes, resolve complex issues, and ensure accuracy.
- Offer guidance and recommend solutions to managers and employees on payroll policies and statutory compliance.
- Coordinate with global mobility teams, tax advisors, and payroll vendors manage payroll for international assignees, ensuring accurate handling of expatriate compensation packages with proper treatment of expatriate pay, deductions, and statutory filings.
- Support tax equalization
- Support internal and external payroll audits and respond to statutory authority queries.
- Ensure timely salary disbursement by reconciling payroll with Finance and managing funding requirements.
- Manage government subsidy claims.
- Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and reduce manual rework.
- Optimize payroll systems (Workday) for efficiency and accuracy.
- Contribute to regional payroll harmonization projects and process improvements.
What we look for
- Proven payroll expertise with 5+ years of experience, including strong knowledge of Singapore payroll regulations and familiarity with other SEA regional payroll experiences will be plus.
- Vendor management experience, with the ability to partner effectively with outsourced payroll providers and hold them accountable for service quality.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in payroll validation, reconciliation, and statutory reporting.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in payroll systems (Workday) and advanced excel functions (pivot tables, V-XLOOKUP, formulas).
- Fast learner who adapts quickly to new processes, systems, and regulatory changes.
- Flexibility and independence, capable of handling complex payroll issues and working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with HR, Finance, line managers, and business stakeholders to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Problem-solving mindset, able to propose practical solutions and process improvements.
