JOB SUMMARY :
This position drives effectively the monthly Sales & Operations (S&OP) Planning Process for assigned product lines, including development & implementation of strategies to support product launch planning, inventory & obsolescence management, product rationalization and monitoring of key demand planning performance indicators. The Demand and Supply Planning Sr Specialist is also responsible for executing and monitoring of all supply & distribution planning activities to ensure timely availability of material while meeting inventory targets, minimizing obsolescence and optimizing costs. Overall responsibility includes ensuring accurate business assumptions and integration with business plans to reduce forecast error. Owning finished goods inventory target methodology used across global distribution sites for assigned products.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Demand Planning & Forecasting
- Submit monthly Demand Forecast/ Replenishment Plan to global, based on cross-functional discussions, analyses on sales forecast, new product launches, phase-In/out schedule, etc.
- Monitor performance vs. the forecast throughout the month identifying any key shifts or trends. Analyze forecast variation/deviation with the goal to minimize out of stocks and prevent the build of excess & obsolete inventory.
- Work closing with sales and marketing team, regulatory, global planning and supply chain team striving to provide and accurate demand signal.
Supply Planning
- Lead monthly S&OP review meetings and challenge the assumptions and numbers provided in the analysis in order to solicit functional knowledge to improve forecast accuracy.
- Follow up and expedite shipment with distribution centers/ factories/ suppliers.
- Supervise and manage the performance of the GBS center to ensure it meets organizational goals and standards.
- Assist with the Sales execution process that drives Abbott’s consensus forecast with key stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Finance, etc.).
- Report and review monthly SC performances to global under KPI.
Inventory Planning and Control
- Communicate implementation plans (and relevant changes) to geographies consistent with marketing & integrated business plans.
- Monitor safety stock and reorder points without hampering the customer service levels.
- Execute continuous improvement of forecasting process while maintaining costs and scrap rate at appropriate level.
- Drive inventory optimization and DOH for cost saving.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Execute the job responsibilities according to applicable standard operating procedures of Abbott
- Prepare for Audits, Compliances & SOX, etc., Documentations
- Ensure applicable SOP of Abbott executed
- Backup Supply Planning/ Freight & Distribution functions and when required
- Global Trade Classification Responsibility as the Certified Classifier
- Maintenance of the SAM (site approval matrix) : Indirect Purchasing
REQUIREMENTS :
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or equivalent OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in similar roles
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communications skills
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Able to multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Demonstrates basic level of computer literacy with high numerical accuracy
- SAP experiences preferred
