Senior Solutions Engineer
The Senior Solutions Engineer (SE) is a sales and technical role with a focus on customers and partners and is a key member of the sales organization. The SE’s primary responsibility is to support the sales team with technical expertise and provide in-depth knowledge about F5 solutions to our customers. To be effective, an SE must possess excellent technical skills and a deep understanding of both F5 products and the broader “eco-system” in which we operate. Fear not! The high-level objective of the role is to achieve the allocated sales target by selling relevant F5 solutions and products to organizations across North America. From a customer’s perspective, the SE acts as a trusted adviser—someone who proactively learns and understands their technical and business challenges and proposes effective solutions to address these issues or create new opportunities. An F5 SE not only communicates technical features but also demonstrates the business benefits through a compelling Technical Value Proposition. Our suite of technologies supports the development and delivery of modern applications, bridging the gap between NetOps and DevOps with multi-cloud application services that span from code to customer.

What you’ll do:
- Articulate the F5 product strategy, messaging, and positioning F5’s value proposition to address customer business objectives.
- Provide technical expertise through sales presentations, solution designs, solution demonstrations, and proof of concepts by various mediums, including in-person/virtual presentations, whiteboards, and more.
- Mentor and educate sales teams on the value of F5 solutions and how they align with business drivers.
- Determine the viability of opportunities and map out organizational structures within customer accounts.
- Drive the sales process in partnership with the Account Manager by identifying the Technical Decision Maker to secure their validation, support, and sponsorship.
- Consistently deliver world-class customer service across the entire customer lifecycle.
- Work collaboratively with internal technical and sales teams by sharing best practices, updates, and expertise as opportunities arise.
Your Technical Qualifications and Skills
- F5 Product Knowledge – Strong proficiency with F5 solutions, with a preference for hands-on experience with BIG-IP.
- Security Expertise – Knowledge of securing mobility interfaces, DNS security, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and general Layer 4 to Layer 7 awareness
- Kubernetes and Cloud-Native Technologies – Basic understanding preferred, including familiarity with containers and orchestration platforms.
- AI Security with a focus on Guardrails and Red Team
- L2/L3 Networking Expertise – Understanding of L2/L3 networking, particularly BGP and MPLS.
- Service Provider Networking Environments – Experience in service provider environments is advantageous
- Experience Level – 8+ years of relevant pre-sales experience is required.

The annual base pay for this position is: $144,000.00 - $216,000.00F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
