Job Overview
This role supports business sales by leveraging technical expertise to design and present Internet of Things (IoT) solutions that address customer business challenges in automotive, logistics, transportation, and ecommerce. It involves consulting on customer opportunities, developing tailored solutions, and providing technical support during sales engagements. The role has a particular focus on connected vehicles, fleet and asset telematics, physical AI, and autonomous vehicle programs. The role requires maintaining specialist knowledge of cloud-based and IoT value-added solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams for product and market insights. Success is measured by the ability to effectively support sales processes, maintain technical certifications, and contribute to customer satisfaction. The work impacts the organization by enabling informed sales strategies and enhancing customer experiences through technical consultation and solution design.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Engage in customer meetings to understand business needs and identify solution opportunities, driving sales support activities for IoT deployments  
  • Consult with sales teams and customers to develop and recommend cloud-based and IoT value-added solutions (connectivity, telematics, edge computing, and data platforms) that meet business requirements  
  • Maintain specialist knowledge and certifications in relevant technologies to ensure up-to-date technical expertise  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, product, and engineering to provide feedback on IoT offerings and support special projects  
  • Serve as a trusted IoT advisor to automotive OEMs, logistics and parcel carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, USPS), transportation fleets, and ecommerce fulfillment operators 
  • Lead technical discovery, proofs of concept, and pilots for connected vehicle, asset tracking, physical AI, robotics, and autonomous vehicle use cases 
  • Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed  

 
Education and Work Experience: 

  • Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of related work experience  
    OR a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required)  
  • 7-10 years Experience in telecommunications, IT administration or network engineering roles with a professional track record of successful solution sales, managing internal/external relationships in a matrix environment. (Preferred) 
  • Demonstrated experience with IoT solutions (connectivity, telematics, edge-to-cloud platforms) in automotive, logistics, transportation, ecommerce, physical AI, or autonomous vehicle environments. (Preferred) 

 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Experience with IoT subscription management platform(s) (e.g., Cisco/Jasper, Ericsson DCP, etc.) 
  • Strong knowledge of RF RAT types and appropriate use case application (LTE Cat1+, CatM, NB, RedCap, 5G SA) 
  • Strong knowledge of 4G and 5G infrastructure elements 
  • Device development and consultation experience related to cellular radio integration (chipsets, modules) 
  • Custom device certification process experience (PTCRB, MNO certification, global certs, e.g., GCF) 
  • Working knowledge of eSIM ecosystem, concepts and architectures (SGP.02, .22, .32 and future standards) 
  • Working or functional knowledge of SIM types (2FF-4FF, MFF2, commercial vs industrial grades) 
  • Working or functional knowledge of API integration concepts 
  • Working knowledge of hyperscaler / cloud application deployment models 
  • Device edge operating stack (OS, application language, device management / FOTA) 
  • Strong mobile IP networking, routing and VPN acumen 
  • Strong ability to decompose a customer use case into functional and technical requirements 
  • RFP response experience

Total Target Cash Pay Range: $140,600 - $253,600, inclusive of target incentives
