As a member of our diverse and skilled North America Solution Consulting team, you will have the opportunity to communicate and demonstrate the power of Workday's applications to prospects and customers alike. It is this team's job to bring the value of Workday solutions to life and showcase how the world of work can be transformed. Along with working closely with our sales counterparts, this team also sits at the exciting intersection of our Product Management, Consulting Services, Marketing, and Value Management teams, providing exposure to various areas of the business.

About the Role

Workday is seeking a highly skilled and driven Financials Solution Consultant to join our dynamic State & Local Government team! In this pivotal role, you'll act as the strategic link between our innovative financial solutions and our valued prospective clients. Your expertise will be showcased through delivering captivating demonstrations, meticulously tailored to address the unique and complex challenges within the public sector. You'll conduct insightful discovery sessions, gaining a deep understanding of client needs and translating them into impactful solutions. As a trusted advisor, you'll provide in-depth financial expertise, expertly responding to RFPs/RFIs and guiding clients through the decision-making process. Collaboration is paramount, and you'll thrive in a team-oriented environment, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless client experiences and staying at the forefront of our evolving product releases. This is a unique opportunity to directly influence sales strategy and contribute significantly to our continued growth and success within the critical State & Local Government market; crafting the future of public sector financial management!

Responsibilities include: 

  • The delivery of relevant technical product presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and seminars. 

  • Creates detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products/applications/solutions

  • To assist in the closure of sales opportunities by demonstrating a complete understanding of and resolving questions regarding our solution, services, and training.

  • To contribute to the qualification of prospects, proposed demonstration criteria, proof of concept system builds and sales cycle closure plans. 

  • Supporting all sales, marketing, technical and channel objectives. 

  • To assist sales in the response to RFI/RFPs 

  • Participate in discovery sessions alongside sales to ask qualifying questions and understand pain points, current business processes,  and ideal future state

  • Uses in-depth ERP-product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations

  • Ability to travel 50% of the time

About You

Basic Qualifications:

Sr. Solution Consultant Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Financials domain expertise and experience across Financials functions: General Accounting, AP/AR, Grants Management, Financial Reporting, Project Management, Asset Management and/or Procurement

  • 3+ years ERP experience ideally from a Presales, Implementation, or Consulting

Solution Consultant Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Financials domain expertise and experience across Financials functions: General Accounting, AP/AR, Grants Management, Financial Reporting, Project Management, Asset Management and/or Procurement

  • 2+ years ERP experience ideally from a Presales, Implementation, or Consulting

Other Qualifications:

  • Grant management preferred

  • Familiarity with the Workday Platform

  • Ability to adequately prioritize multiple projects and needs of the business while collaborating with other departments to drive sales strategy, enablement, and growth.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships and drive revenue through value-based selling methodologies.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence C-level executives, with a particular focus on CFO personas.

  • Extensive knowledge of product features, benefits, and applications, coupled with strong presales and product demonstration skills, especially within cloud-based solution environments.

  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence including specific industry use cases and Generative AI trends.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, AND/OR equivalent work experience

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
