Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile Software Engineer to join our App team, with a strong focus on mobile application development and backend services. This role requires hands-on experience building and publishing mobile applications across Apple, Google, and Microsoft platforms, along with solid expertise in Python-based backend development.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining mobile applications, while also designing and supporting backend services that power core functionality. A key part of this role involves managing the end-to-end mobile app lifecycle, including development, testing, release management, and publishing to app stores. On the backend, you will contribute to building scalable APIs, integrating services, and ensuring reliable data flow between systems.
Basic Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field
- 5-7 years of software engineering experience with a focus on mobile app development and backend systems
- Strong proficiency in mobile development:
- iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Kotlin)
- OR cross-platform frameworks (React Native, Flutter)
- Proven experience publishing and maintaining apps on:
- Apple App Store
- Google Play Store
- Microsoft Store
- Strong experience with Python backend development
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs and microservices
- Hands-on experience with app signing, certificates, provisioning profiles, and store submission processes
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for both mobile and backend (e.g., Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building and maintaining end-to-end mobile release pipelines and automation
- Strong understanding of App store guidelines, compliance, and review processes
- Experience with mobile test automation frameworks
- Familiarity with backend testing and API validation tools (e.g., PyTest, Postman)
- Experience with beta distribution tools (TestFlight, Firebase App Distribution, Microsoft App Center)
- Exposure to scalable backend architecture, distributed systems, and performance optimization
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and crash reporting tools (e.g., Firebase, Sentry, Datadog)
- Familiarity with release strategies (phased rollout, feature flags, A/B testing)
- Experience managing multiple environments, app versions, and deployments at scale
- Understanding of test strategy, test data management, and quality metrics across mobile and backend systems
