F5 is looking for a Sr Engineer, Software to join our team! You will participate in coding of our backend control-plane API and design, orchestration, automation of the cloud infrastructure for our bot and risk management platform that protects apps and APIs from bots and malicious automation.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work with team of experts to implement product features, fix bugs, write unit tests, debug customer issues, bring in ideas and solutions to adopt and implement new Kubernetes and cloud provider features for our orchestration platform.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain responsive applications using Java, Python or Go.
• Implement and update Helm charts to add/modify k8s manifests to deploy solution in various cloud environments
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to coding standards.
• Implement and support git pipelines to do continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) to ensure code quality with unit tests and deployment reliability.
• Regularly improve unit test cases ensuring grater code coverage and assist QA members in integration and performance test cycles
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for end-to-end feature development, taking ownership and accountability.
• Write complete documentation on product features, deployment and debugging instructions
• Troubleshoot and debug issues reported by customers, SRE team or identified in QA cycle and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.

Required Skills:

• Hands on experience in developing applications in Java, Python or Go

• Experience with any of the cloud technologies (AWS, GCP), microservices and Kubernetes deployments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Gitlab Pipelines and ArgoCD
• Knowledge of any message brokers like RabbitMQ and distributed caching like Redis
• Familiar with Application controllers and Load Balancers like AWS NLB, Nginx, GCP LB
• Knowledge of TCP/IP Stack, SSL, VPC Networks, Firewalls and NAT.
• Strong communication and trouble-shooting skills

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with a BS/BA or MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
