Job Description:

Sr. Software Engineer for PAR, Inc. d/b/a PAR North America (PAR, Inc. is a business unit of OPENLANE) in Carmel, IN. Responsible for the architecture, design, development, testing and delivery of products for the automotive remarketing industry; Participate in code reviews, planning and estimation meetings; perform iterative development of solutions based on acceptance criteria and designs. Devise testing solutions and troubleshoot issues; Develop Performance and Capacity Test Plans of migrating application; Code, stress test and load test applications for migration; Provide production deployment guidelines and execution plan. Participate in cross-discipline collaboration with team members including the product owners, designers, and testers; Provide input and create reusable Web-Services for increased interoperability. Develop Web-Services using SOAP, Restful, AJAX/JSON, XML, WSDL for transferring data between different applications; assist with WebSphere Application / Portal server installation, configuration and deployment in our local and Dev environments. Utilize SDLC (software development lifecycle) tools including Azure DevOps, GitHub; Analyze the project requirements; coordinate project activities and tasks, as well as dependent deliverables. Develop complex JAVA modules using advanced concepts of multithreading, collections, java libraries and data structures; create Client Server communication interface to establish model view controller style of communication within the application; Suggest and demonstrate technical solutions in each phase of the project; Assist development in design of application architecture and staged implementation of changes and providing 24X7 support. Handle complete spectrum of application development and fine tune the JDBC-SQL queries to improve the performance. Provide technical documentation for the design and architecture, ensuring continued availability of all application processes. Develop VIPR and eVIPR User Interface (portal development) using JSP, Java Script, HTML and jQuery; use Java, Maven, and Gradle; Identify development plans for system components. Extensively use Spring MVC and Hibernate mapping in the project. Develop in IBM Portal servers as well as IBM MQ/Broker. Tasks include: Code Reviews, Configurations, Creating architectural diagrams, Design technical solutions for building software, Domain specific requirements gathering and definition, Oracle tuning, Planning and Estimation, Prototype software components and solutions, Software Design, Software Development, Task, Technical writing, Testing Software, Training, Troubleshoot environment issues, Troubleshooting skills, Understanding of ORM via relational structured and unstructured databases with platforms such as Oracle and MongoDB; UNIX knowledge, and Webshere/JBoss configuration.

The position is a hybrid position at employer's discretion. Must be able to work at PAR Inc's offices as needed.

Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Science, Computer Information Systems, or related technical field and 5 years of experience as a software engineer or related occupation in software engineering or software architecture; or a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Science, Computer Information Systems, or related technical field and 3 years of experience a software engineer or related occupation in software engineering or software architecture.

Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience with each of the following:

SDLC (software development lifecycle) tools including Azure DevOps, GitHub;

ORM via relational structured and unstructured databases with platforms such as Oracle and MongoDB;

Portal development built on either Websphere or Liferay interfaces using JSP, Java Script, HTML and jQuery; and

Developing web services using Java, Maven, Gradle.

Must possess experience working in the automotive auction industry
