Summary:
In this role, you will join our Data Engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer, focusing on building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, modernizing cloud infrastructure, and supporting existing applications and projects. You will also contribute to the design, development, and deployment of AI and machine learning solutions, partnering across the full lifecycle from experimentation and prototyping through production implementation and ongoing optimization.
Responsibilities:
· Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using SSIS, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Databricks.
· Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation processes for large-scale datasets.
· Build and maintain Python-based data pipelines, automation scripts, and data processing workflows.
· Design and implement efficient data ingestion, integration, and validation processes from multiple internal and external data sources.
· Develop and support CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable deployment and maintenance of data engineering solutions.
· Collaborate with business analysts, application developers, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
· Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
· Support cloud-based data platform modernization initiatives using Azure services and Databricks.
· Create and maintain technical documentation, data mappings, and operational procedures.
· Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices, coding standards, and data governance policies.
· Provide production support, troubleshoot data-related issues, and implement enhancements to existing data solutions.
· Work with AI/ML and analytics teams by preparing, transforming, and delivering high-quality datasets for reporting, analytics, and machine learning initiatives.
· Assist with integrating AI-enabled capabilities into data platforms where appropriate while maintaining a primary focus on data engineering and platform reliability.
Qualifications:
· Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
· 5 or more years of relevant experience required.
· Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with large and complex datasets required.
· Hands-on experience with SSIS and Azure Data Factory (ADF) required.
· Proficiency in Python for data engineering, scripting, and automation required.
· Experience with Databricks and distributed data processing required, Py Spark experience is a plus.
· Strong experience with CI/CD practices and tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions required.
· Working knowledge of the AI/ML lifecycle, including model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring required.
· Exposure to or hands-on experience with LLM-powered applications, including RAG pipelines and agentic systems preferred.
· Solid understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data quality principles preferred.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $102,400.00 to $179,000.00.This position is also incentive eligible.
