The Video Analytics team plays a crucial role in this mission by providing creators with the insights they need to understand their audience and grow their reach. As a Senior Software Engineer on our team, you'll be instrumental in designing, developing and optimizing the full-stack systems behind our customer-facing analytics application. You'll tackle the challenges of handling massive datasets, ensuring our platform remains performant and scalable as we continue to empower creators worldwide. What you'll do:
- Design, develop and optimize the frontend and backend systems that power Vimeo's customer-facing analytics application.
- Build and maintain robust and scalable APIs that deliver data efficiently to the frontend.
- Design and implement efficient database queries to extract and aggregate meaningful insights from massive datasets.
- Collaborate with other engineers to ensure seamless integration and data delivery between frontend and backend components.
- Contribute to the evolution of our tech stack with a focus on performance and reliability, which includes React with TypeScript, PHP APIs, and Scala RPCs.
- Mentor and guide other team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Skills and knowledge you should possess:
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on full-stack development.
- Demonstrable understanding of frontend and backend architecture, performance optimization, and scalability.
- Proven experience working with large analytical datasets.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following: PHP, Scala, JS/TS.
- A working knowledge of kubernetes and gRPCs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
- A self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and a drive to deliver high-quality results.
Targeted Base Salary Range: $127,800 to $196,000
The base salary range listed above is for candidates located in the U.S., including the New York City metro area.
