Sr. Software Engineer - (SRE - Site Reliability Engineer)

Get Stuff Done!
- First and foremost, we are here to improve the stability and performance of the environment – identify and drive architecture, infrastructure, middleware and coding improvements
- Work with internal groups such as Product Engineering, Tools and QA to adopt SRE best practices
The more yes’s the better
- Data! Data! Data? - Are you able to take in multiple data streams and make sense of it? Do you know how to turn “data” into “information” and more importantly into “action”?
- There’s a Better Path – Can you look at an architecture, process, or application flow and see a more stable, standard, or optimized way to accomplish the same thing? Do you ask “why” when a request doesn’t sound right? Do you see problems and immediately want to fix them? Can you find ways to quantify and prioritize these improvements?
- Roll Up Your Sleeves – Can you jump into a foreign problem space and attack a problem, can you run it down until the problem is solved? Do you have to know why something isn’t working the way it should?
- Experience of designing, optimizing and troubleshooting large, complex application stacks
Deep understanding of the following
- AWS Services Portfolio and Cloud Operations
- Observability, preferably with New Relic and fluency with NRQL
- Kubernetes, EKS, Docker
- Linux and Bash
- IIS, Apache, and/or NGINX
- Broad understanding/experience across full stack infrastructure
Technologies
- Database solutions
- Virtualization (Hypervisor, Containers, Functions)
- DevOps processes and tooling
- Message queuing, data streaming and caching solutions
- Micro-service architecture
- Networking principles and concepts
Basic understanding of the following development concepts
- Source Control
- CI/CD
- YAML, XML, JSON
- Data structures and Algorithms
- Application design
Salary: $115K - $145K + Bonus
