About the Role:
CrowdStrike is seeking a Director, Engineering for our Cloud Security Runtime Protection team. This critical role in the organization will be responsible for leading the charge on building innovative solutions leveraging Crowdstrike’s world famous sensor, capture data from millions of sensors deployed in sensitive environments and enable sophisticated security detections across a wide variety of workloads. You will be going deep into the internals of Kubernetes, containers, functions and a variety of modern assets in the world of cloud infrastructure. You will help drive and deliver on the technical strategy and roadmap and will be responsible for mentoring the team. CrowdStrike is growing rapidly and you will be instrumental in the hiring, retaining and growth of our world class engineers. You will work cross functionally with your peers in the engineering organization as well as leaders in sales and product. Your impact is not bounded and you will be enabled to engage and collaborate with various teams and ensure your product’s success.
This role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week on-site at one of the posted locations.
What You'll Do:
Lead a very talented technical team building highly innovative Cloud Security solutions
Participate and influence - code, design & architecture reviews and key technical decisions
Mentor the team for growth and peak performance
Attract and retain top talent
Champion and drive AI-driven Development LifeCycle in the team
Drive innovation in the team through research, customer and industry engagement
Work with Product Management, Program Management and cross functional engineering teams to deliver innovative features and products with high quality and on schedule
Build technology partnerships with key industry leaders
Work closely with sales and support teams in supporting customers
What You'll Need:
A minimum of a Bachelor Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a equivalent technical field
Experience leading teams of senior and junior engineers
Ability to code in languages such as C/C++ or equivalent
Demonstrated track record of building a strong core engineering team and engineering team management
Deep understanding of Linux and it’s internals
Proven ability to build security products in Linux space
Familiarity with eBPF
15+ years of software engineering experience in all phases of a software development lifecycle
Broad grounding in all aspects of distributed systems development: understanding of distributed systems concepts
Solid design and problem solving skills with demonstrated passion for engineering excellence, quality, security and performance
Experience and willingness to drive AI-driven Development LifeCycle
Strong cross-group collaboration and interpersonal communication skills working with a variety of roles including engineering, product management, support and sales engineering
Experience working with remote teams and individuals while ensuring agility and code velocity
Ability to communicate and articulate crisply at all levels from executive staff to engineers
Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.
Bonus Points:
Understanding of Kubernetes and its role in cloud computing
Familiarity with cloud computing and deployment of software in the cloud
Solid grounding in the technology of at least one cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Experience with hybrid cloud environments
Machine learning and data science familiarity and hands on experience
Exposure to/experience with cybersecurity and intelligence
Experience building products for AI security

CrowdStrike, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Placement within the pay range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location. The base salary range for this position for all U.S. candidates is $195,000 - $290,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off.For detailed information about the U.S. benefits package, please click here.

- 10+ years experience developing product features on Linux/Unix in C/C++ with high-concurrency, high-reliability, and low-level OS constraints
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical field
- Experience developing production eBPF code for security or networking
- Experience designing and developing container runtime engines or software that monitors containers or optimized VM environments for containers
- Experience programming cloud-native workloads and using public cloud platforms and container technologies (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker)
