Job Summary:


As a Software Engineer III at OpenGov you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing one of the core products in a fast-paced, agile environment to drive our mission to make the world a little better everyday by powering our key community functions.


A typical day in this role will entail fixing Customer defects, solving complex data issues, monitoring application health, proactively ensuring Customer escalations are minimized

and implementing enhancements. Sense of urgency, Customer delight, good collaboration, an eye for details and good problem solving skills will ensure your success in this role. 

Responsibilities:

  • Enhance existing software systems by identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes to improve application stability and maintainability.
  • Analyze, debug, and resolve software defects and issues in existing applications within set SLAs.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Document changes, updates, and troubleshooting steps to maintain comprehensive project records.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, SRE and Support teams to drive Customer delight.
  • Drive continuous improvements to ensure operational excellence (Root cause analysis, improve MTTR etc).
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to ensure the longevity and relevance of our software products.

Requirements and Preferred Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience maintaining and enhancing enterprise software is required
  • 4+ years of professional experience with PHP, React, Powerhouse (4GL) is required 
  • 4+ years delivering software using an agile methodology required (Scrum preferred)
  • Self starter with good problem solving skills and having ability to learn new technology is required
