Senior Software Engineer - DBA/PostgresSQL
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Software Engineer to join our Enterprise Platforms and Architecture - Data Platform team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong technical background in software engineering. As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development, scalability, reliability, and security of our software solutions while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
What You Will Do
- Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL database solutions on cloud platforms such as Google, K8 environment, Stores, HCI and RDC Perform database administration tasks including installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and enforce database security policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and compliance with industry standards.
- Optimize database schemas, queries, and application performance. Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions for PostgreSQL databases.
- Automate repetitive tasks and streamline database operations using scripting languages and automation tools. Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning to anticipate future resource requirements and scalability needs.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in PostgreSQL database administration and cloud technologies.
- Design and Rollout Postgres HA Across stores

- A Senior Software Engineer already familiar the technologies listed.
- Demonstrated the ability to deliver quality, well-documented code.
- Able to lead software projects and mentor more junior engineers.
- Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to your team.
- Demonstrate software solutions to technical leaders and business/product stakeholders.
Where You'll Be
- Associates are required to relocate to the Charlotte region to foster collaboration and facilitate improved testing and support.
- Lowe's supports a Flex Office concept where in-person work is required two days per week at the Charlotte Tech Hub
- Most business meetings are planned around the Eastern time zone.
Required Qualifications• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)• 5 years of experience in software development or a related field • 4 years of experience in database technologies• 4 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC)
Preferred Qualifications• Master's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field• 5 years of IT experience developing and implementing business systems within an organization• 5 years of experience working with defect or incident tracking software• 5 years of experience writing technical documentation in a software development environment• 3 years of experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework• 3 years of experience leading teams, with or without direct reports• 5 years of experience working with source code control systems• Experience working with Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment tools• 5 years of experience in systems analysis, including defining technical requirements and performing high level design for complex solutions
• 4 years of experience in Postgres
