BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience
8+ years of experience building and managing distributed systems, as well as a sound understanding of distributed system fundamentals
Proficient in one of the following programming languages: Go, Java as well as good scripting skills and the ability to pick up new ones
Experience with container platforms such as Kubernetes
Grit, drive and a strong sense of ownership, coupled with an appetite for collaboration
Strong written / verbal communication, and the ability to manage stakeholders and leadership

Skills Required
- 6+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering, data engineering, or a related technical role
- Expertise writing high-quality code for strategically important, cross-organizational problems
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and data warehousing
- Experience leading organization-wide engineering projects through inception, stakeholder engagement, implementation, and operations
- Experience overseeing incident management processes and directing on-call rotations
