As a Site Reliability Engineer focused on Security you will be using your DevOPS skills to operate and automate the life cycle of the databases managed by the Yugabyte Cloud. You will design and build processes that will spin up databases, back them up, recover them, manage alerting systems, observability systems, billing systems. As an SRE with security focus you will make sure there are no mechanisms to leak keys, passwords, or private data. You will evaluate and audit our network design with an emphasis on security and will be the point of contact for security exposures and vulnerabilities in the cloud and software infrastructure. You will be using, operating, and configuring Kubernetes environments (GKE, EKS, AKS), Java frameworks, Python scripts, Terraform templates and many other cloud technologies.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, debug and maintain components of the cloud infrastructure
  • Manage operational priorities of the DBaaS
  • Establish process for handling and leading response to security new vulnerabilities
  • Lead certification efforts from the security perspective
  • Participate in penetration testing efforts
  • Design and build DBaaS processes for key management, rotation storage, encryption, and password management
Required Experience
  • Strong software design and implementation skills in building infrastructure frameworks
  • Experience building and operating extensible, scalable resilient data systems
  • Working knowledge of Java and Python Experience using public cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Containerization tooling (Docker, EKS, Kubernetes)
  • Infrastructure as Code Tooling (Example: Terraform, Cloudformation, Etc.)
  • Configuration Management Tooling (Ansible, Chef, Etc.)
  • Automation Scripting (Python preferred)
  • Solid understanding of basic systems operations (disk, network etc)
  • Willingness and ability to learn new languages and concepts
  • 6+ years of relevant experience
