The Role

About this Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior SEO Manager to execute and optimize SEO strategies across multiple leading brands, including Fandom, GameSpot, TV Guide, Metacritic, Fanatical, etc.  This role is focused on implementing tactical SEO initiatives and managing day-to-day operations. Reporting to the Director of SEO, the Senior SEO Manager will focus on execution and collaboration across teams, supporting the overarching strategy set by the Director.

You Will...

  • SEO Strategy: Create SEO strategies that are tailored to the unique needs of each brand, assist in monitoring the changing search landscape and communicating risk and opportunity impact.  
  • SEO Execution & Implementation: Execute, support, and collaborate on the day-to-day management of SEO activities, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and technical SEO fixes. Leverage and evangelize AI tools to create efficiency.
  • Technical SEO: Conduct detailed technical SEO audits and implement recommendations to improve site health. This includes resolving issues related to site architecture, crawlability, indexation, and page speed, in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Content Optimization: Work with editorial teams to ensure content is optimized for SEO without compromising brand voice or editorial integrity. Provide practical SEO guidance and training to content creators.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor and report on the performance of SEO initiatives using analytics tools. Identify areas for improvement and take corrective actions as needed. KPIs of ranking and incremental traffic gains measured and reported. Report on industry trends.
  • Team Support & Mentorship: Assist in coaching SEO team members, helping them grow their skills and contribute effectively to the team’s goals. Ensure best practices are followed across all projects.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management and engineering teams to ensure that SEO requirements are incorporated into product development and site enhancements. Support the Director of SEO in communicating technical SEO requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders to communicate the progress and results of SEO initiatives. Provide insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement.

You Have...

  • 8+ years of hands-on SEO experience, with a strong track record in executing successful SEO strategies.
  • In-depth knowledge of technical SEO, including site architecture, crawlability, indexation, and page speed optimization.
  • Experience in content optimization, working closely with editorial teams to ensure alignment with SEO best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to monitor performance metrics and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience and knowledge working with AI products and tools.
  • Proficiency in using SEO tools like Google Analytics/Amplitude, Google Search Console, SEMrush, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey SEO concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Bonus Points...

  • Experience with UGC platforms and e-commerce sites, particularly in the gaming and entertainment verticals.
  • Understanding of the interplay between SEO and user experience (UX).
