Who We're Looking For

The Sr Scrum Master is responsible for coaching and building the agile mindset in team members and across roles. You are a master in communication, possess a thorough knowledge of all agile roles and responsibilities and have a flair for working with people and data.
The Scrum Master will coach related roles such as Product Owners, Product Managers and Business Line Management. You will communicate with cross-functional teams for all needs of the team and the project and will participate in all activities of the team and provide valuable coaching where necessary.

Scope of the Role:  

  • Direct Reports: This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports  

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Promote understanding of Syniverse's SDLC process and standards. 

  • Work closely with other functional areas to ensure that project schedules are met with a high level of quality. 

  • Partner with the product and management teams with the best interest of the team and customers 

  • Maintain and advance expertise by keeping abreast of latest developments and practices to help Syniverse journey. 

  • Enable, generate, manage and present team and project/release metric reports and assessments. 

  • Adhere to the defined processes to help identify opportunities for improvement, within and across teams. 

  • Identify and reach out to relevant teams for resolution of impediments. Escalate repeating impediments and engage with stakeholders for holistic solutions. 

  • Possess good knowledge on existing processes and propose changes for improvement. Possess good Product functional knowledge at a high level. 

  • Understand, analyze, and present metrics to the team helping identify areas of improvement. 

  • Utilize Jira & Confluence to manage program & team backlogs. 

 

Experience, Education, and Certifications:  

  • Desired knowledge of Power BI as well as DevOps tools such as GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Ansible, etc.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related subject preferred.

  • Desired experience with Jira and other tools enabling sound agile practices. 

  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience in the areas of playing a scrum master role with experience in working with roles beyond team members. 

  • Experience in Agile Project Management is desired.

 

Additional Requirements:  

  • Strong communication skills and hands-on experience in working across teams, aligning sprint plans and resolution of impediments.

  • Openness to give and received feedback with the objective of continuous improvement 

  • Experience with software engineering and telecommunications is a plus 

  • Analytical mindset with keep eye for process gaps and the thrive to corrected them. 

  • Exposure to being part of teams working with cutting edge technologies in a cloud-based environment. 

  • Strong Knowledge/Hands on experience being a mentor, coach and a servant leader for teams working in complex environments with dependencies across multiple teams.
