Job Summary
Senior Scrum Masters typically have a hands-on role in managing the implementation of Scrum/Agile methodologies within software development and engineering teams. They improve the Scrum intensity of these teams and coach them to higher levels of maturity at a sustainable pace by ensuring that they adhere to Scrum theory, practices, and rules. The Senior Scrum Master assists dedicated teams in delivering business functionality through development and quality assurance execution provided by subject matter experts on their teams
Job Description
- Experience Required: 5 to 10 years Project Management experience in SDLC
- 5+ years as a Scrum Master
- Previous experience as a software engineer an asset
- Must have experience using Jira
- Education Required: Bachelors Degree
- Certification Required: Scrum Master
Job Responsibilities
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc)
- Well versed on Agile/Scrum practices & values and guides others on how to use Agile/Scrum practices.
- Lead the team in backlog grooming, estimation and all other process driven activities.
- Hold regular sprint reviews. Track and communicate team/sprint/release progress to the team and leadership.
- Identify project risks and provide alternatives for reducing risk, along with communication to the stakeholders.
- Track and manage agreed scope and changes to scope. Work closely with delivery teams to establish expectations and ensure tasks remain on track. Address current or future impediments to the team.
- Coach, mentor and provide guidance to other Scrum Masters.
- Continuously develop and maintain team standards, tools, best practices and process documentation.
- Work comfortably with remote/virtual teams.
