We are looking for builders, challengers, and customer-focused leaders who want to shape a market, grow with the business, and leave a visible mark on the future of energy. The Sr Sales Director, based in Texas, will lead commercial growth for Maxwell supercapacitor solutions, with a primary focus on building strategic relationships with hyperscalers and driving Maxwell brand pull-through across system integrators (SIs). This role owns global commercial execution, including pipeline development, deal closure, account expansion, and cross-functional coordination to deliver profitable growth. How you will do it-
  • Develop and execute Maxwell's go-to-market strategy across priority segments, including AI data centers, grid infrastructure, industrial, and emerging applications. 
  • Build and manage executive-level relationships with our customers including AIDC (system integrators, hyperscalers, power system OEM’s, compute platforms,etc), grid, automotive, and wind/industrial end markets.  Own the customer relationship as a representative of Maxwell.   
  • Work closely with engineering and product planning to influence ecosystem players to design-in and deploy Maxwell supercapacitor solutions. 
  • Lead the full commercial cycle: account mapping, opportunity qualification, pricing strategy, negotiation, contracting, and closure. 
  • Identify and develop new market opportunities, strategic partnerships, and ecosystem relationships that accelerate growth. 
  • Own global sales targets: bookings, revenue, margin, and forecast accuracy. 
  • Coordinate with product, engineering, operations, legal, and marketing teams to ensure successful customer execution and on-time delivery. 
  • Strengthen Maxwell market positioning through customer engagement, thought leadership, events, and partner co-marketing activities. 
  • Monitor market trends, competitive movements, and customer needs to shape strategy and improve win rates. 
  • Ensure disciplined CRM usage, weekly forecast reporting, and robust account plans for strategic customers. 
  • Develop strategic partnerships with power infrastructure providers, UPS manufacturers, system integrators, and technology partners to accelerate market adoption. 
  • Build, coach, and scale a high-performance commercial organization as the business grows. 
What we look for-Required 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA is a plus. 
  • 10+ years of B2B sales/business development experience in energy storage, power electronics, data center infrastructure, or related technology sectors. 
  • Proven success managing large strategic accounts, including hyperscalers and/or major OEMs/SIs. 
  • Strong understanding of backup power solutions in mission-critical systems, supercapacitor experience will be preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence complex ecosystems and drive partner-led commercial execution. 
  • Demonstrated ability to create and scale new business opportunities in emerging markets and technologies. 
  • Strong commercial acumen in pricing, contracts, and multi-stakeholder negotiations. 
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, and cross-functional leadership skills. 
  • Willingness to travel as needed across the US and globally to support customers. 
Preferred Experience 
  • Experience with design-in to commercialization sales cycles and technical value selling.  
  • Familiarity with power reliability applications such as UPS ride-through, peak power support, and backup systems.
