JOB SUMMARY:
- The Senior Safety Manager is responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of environmental health and safety programs in our locations to assure compliance with federal, state and local regulatory, along with Capstone Logistics guidelines, and site-specific policies through promoting a wide range safety culture through administering and enforcing safety SOP’s and presentations, safety training, risk assessments, and behavior modification programs. Effectively implement programs, practices, and procedures to reduce the frequency and severity of injuries and accidents in the facility. Visting and working with on-site leadership to ensure that all Safety Processes and Procedures are being adhered to and we are meeting all accountable government regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsibilities:
- Implement site specific Standard Operating Procedures are requested by the company
- Perform regular Site Visits and audits in our facilities.
- Verify adherence to federal, state, and local safety rules (such as OSHA).
- Assist Site Leadership with Developing Site EH&S plan for the site
- Ensure JHA’s are complying at all locations.
- Partner with the operations team to integrate injury prevention efforts into daily workflows and provide expert guidance on compliance matters.
- Coach regional teams on hazard identification and risk reduction.
- Manages site safety programs and implements improvements to assure that those managing the work embrace safety as part of the work culture.
- Ability to work with site leadership to ensure corrective action are properly implemented, and leading indicators are being properly aligned to.
- Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations. Keeps up to date on any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
- Provide Safety, Health and Environmental leadership and guidance to our locations.
- Oversee the Implementation of any Safety Incentive programs on our sites
- Conduct RCI’s as required by the organization – meet with Partner contact on a regular basis to review safety incidents and RCI’s
- Work closely with our Partners’ EH&S lead to ensure that common practices are followed and all personnel are trained
- Ensure Safety Programs are in place and Audit said programs in Capstone locations.
- Along with the Site Leadership and Capstone Corporate personnel, be the Capstone representative for OSHA, EPA or other State and Federal regulatory agencies and address any issues that may arise on a site level.

QUALIFICATIONS:
education and/or experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental Safety, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5-8 Years’ experience is Safety for Warehousing and Distribution.
- Experience with EPA and OSHA regulations in distribution centers.
knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to create and implement new safety training lessons and programs
- Demonstrated warehouse skills with a broad knowledge of warehouse operations
- Management skills required with particular emphasis on leadership, supervision, motivations, communication, and planning.

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment during site visits (concrete floors, changing temperatures)
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking during site visits.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Ability to safely identify and respond to workplace hazards, including moving equipment.
- Ability to effectively receive and communicate information and to recognize and respond to workplace safety warnings and hazards.

Skills Required
